HardWire TL2 Metal Distortion Pedal

The TL-2 is an analog metal distortion pedal that produces many different metal tones with the use of the flexible 3-band tone controls and Tight/Loose mode switch. In the Tight mode, the TL-2 produces a tight low end focus perfect for modern, progressive metal. The Loose setting produces modern, loose low end grind tones.

Subject:Champagne distortion on a beer budget!
Quality: The Digitech TL-2 Metal Distortion is built to last forever. Even if it doesn't, Digitech will repair it out of warranty for a song! Check this off - Diecast body, metal jacks, knobs machined from solid aircraft aluminum, stainless retractable pins for footswitch bearings, body halves joined with allen head machine screws... I wouldn't be surprised if you could use this pedal underwater! No! Don't try that!
Reliability: Like I said, this pedal should last a lifetime with minimal care; although it so stunningly sophisticated in it's appearance, you'll probably want to give it more than minimal care!
Overall: Overall the Digitech model TL-2, which stands for "tight/loose 2-mode" Metal Distortion effect pedal is a gold-winner 10 from any prespective.
Playability and Feel: I could not stop playing with this pedal. The tone control voicings are insanely flexable, musical and very guitar-centric. So far, I've only run it through a Fender Cyber Deluxe and a Marshall DSL401 - can't wait to see what it will do with my Boogie and Blackheart. I didn't think it would do so, but it easily blew the doors off my Zoom Driver 5000 when using the Marshall 401.
Tone: The tone controls are very easy to get your head around and extremely versatile. "Level" with more output than most any pedal I've used to date, dual concentric "High Low" (that I would have labeled opposite - no biggie) for high and low EQ and dual concentric "Mid Freq" or Mid EQ with a center (Freq) sweep and finally "Gain" or amount of distortion. There is also a mini toggle for Tight/Loose mode selection and a large, sexy blue status indicator.
Finish: The pedal has a very serious, sophisticated look to it - esentially flat black with silver trim in no less than five finishes! (knobs, toggle, foot pad, logo and <<->> graphic). One word comes to mind - stunning gorgeous! - oh wait - that's two words isn't it?
Action: Pull this pedal out at your next gig or rehersal and I'll you'll get most likely get some psychotic reaction.
Skill Level: Semi-Pro
