Hartke XL Cabinets
Professionals choose the XL Series because of its carefully calibrated and tuned cabinet design and high quality aluminum-cone drivers. XLs produce a smooth response along with the clear, punchy attack that changed the sound of bass. Each cabinet is built tough with a shockproof metal grill, reinforced corners, recessed carry handles and a rugged covering.

Hartke has been redefining the sound of bass guitar since the early 1980s. Their revolutionary aluminum-cone bass drivers and breakthrough cabinet designs were the first to combine an open-ended, articulate response with a fast attack and punchy bottom end. Their bass systems, coupled with dramatic breakthroughs in musicality and instrumental technique by the first high-profile Hartke artist, the late, great Jaco Pastorius, and other distinctive talents such as Stu Hamm, Will Lee and Tom Hamilton, continue to bring a new standard of clarity and accurate tonal reproduction to the bass.

The XL Series provides the highest performance at every level. Each cabinet is carefully calibrated and tuned to give you a smooth, balanced response along with an articulate, high-impact attack. Equipped with custom Hartke XL aluminum-cone drivers for maximum response, the XL Series also features high-quality 3/4"+ 5/8" composite plywood construction and a shockproof metal grille. These high-quality cabinets come equipped with a rugged, road-tough covering, interlocking stacking corners and recessed input jacks to safeguard critical cable connections.

Overall Rating
Good Addition to a 15" cab, but wouldn't use by itself
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
The cabinet seems well made. corners, handles, covering and speakers all look and feel good. Played a show at a large theatre with my 500watt head halfway up (very loud) and it survived.
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
I gave it a 3 here since i feel it could use more power handling. It doesn't handle alot of bass well, and as someone who likes a scooped bass tones, sometimes i feel like this thing is holding my rig back a little, that is to say i might be better just feeding the one 500watt 15" cab instead. Still, it has a unique sound from the aluminum speakers that adds some midrange punch to the mix, and again, despite my concerns, it hasn't blown despite being fed a potential 250watts from my amp
How is the tone?
Different. The aluminum drivers have a unique sound, almost a bit plasticy. Like i said, i would never use it alone, but paired with something beefier it's a nice addition.
Your general opinion of this product.
I'm not that experienced with bass cabs, but this seems to be a good 2x10. Try it out if you can, since the speakers have a unique tone. If i had to do it all over, i would probably get another 1x15 instead, as i like my low end beefy.
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
