    Good but with limitations
    Product Rating
What is your opinion of this product?
The Contemporary Club bass arrived in good shape and in the hard-shell Hofner case equipped with a hygrometer. The overall workmanship was good; the high-gloss finish was stunning while the nut was cut haphazardly, although with a zero fret, it's not a problem. I replaced the strings with LaBella flats that are made for the Hofner violin and club basses--choose these, you won't regret it. Now the bad news. If yours is like mine, you will find the action way too high, and a truss rod adjustment will not do a thing. I had to have the bridge removed and sanded down, which cost me $100 but resulted in good playability. Of course, you could do this yourself and save money, but be aware of the hazard of taking off too much wood, or letting the strings touch the lower pickup. Some players will like the trebley sound of the bridge pickup--if you want the fuzz tone of "Think for Yourself" you'll love it. I don't. But the neck pickup is fantastically responsive and produces huge tone.

A Decent Bass At An Okay Price
What is your opinion of this product?
A little bit pricey for the overall craftsmanship, but otherwise okay. It feels good and plays fairly nice. Somewhat heavier than I expected for a Hofner too. The pickups are German made and sound powerful. The setup was mediocre out of the case/box. I guess in all honesty, I was not all that pleased with the overall quality of their craftsmanship. It arrived with a marred trapeze bridge and some bad cuts where they were not too precise when cutting the binding and the pearl-like pick guard. I'm trying to be positive because I like the overall look and its sound. Keep in mind it's an import from China. All said; its okay. It does come with a nice Hofner hard case!

    Now I got 3 hollow's
What is your opinion of this product?
I have a 1967 Epi Ravolie and a 1966 Eko vilo bass.So now with the Hof I got all the old school 60's sounds covered the Eko's neck is close but the Hof has got that slimness and playability covered. And don't 4get the looks so I Happy!!!
