Excellent Bass Guitar
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
The Hofner CT Club bass is flawless. All of the electronics seem to be in working order-- but haven't had long enough to comment on long-term dependability.
Features
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
With the exception of the s/b short scale Galaxie or the s/b long scale H185, all of Hofner's bass models are super light-weight (as hollowbodies usually are). That being said- you can play this all night long and not have to worry about shoulder pain the next morning!
Sound
How is its Tone?
Most players hear Hofner and think "flat wounds"....but this bass has a personality of it's own with round-wound strings, too. Either way works.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Light-weight, thin neck, controls are simple and conveniently located.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Pickups are not hot, but they do provide the thick, bottom end punch that is so often desired.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The sunburst finish is bright and reflects a very authentic "vintage" look.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
The action was low and required no additional set up.
