What is your opinion of this product?
I have a Hofner BB model that I bought from AMS back in 2006. still love the sound. Shipped w/ roundwound strings back then. put a set of short scale flatwounds and this bass "sings"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

great vintage look, good sound, and very comfortable to play
What is your opinion of this product?
It is very comfortable to stand and play for hours. ... not really a big, booming sound; but it sounds terrific for older rock and jazz

    Cool
What is your opinion of this product?
Sounds good, easy to handle, lite weight, could be a little basier. Will look into tape wound strings for basier sound

not a bass for all seasons, but I rather like it for what it is
What is your opinion of this product?
Let's be clear, the design of the bass is frankly, antiquated -from the peculiar control panel to the bizarre (for an electric bass) floating wooden bridge. From a sound perspective, could it hold it's own in a more modern context...probably not. But with that being said, it is real light and frankly fun to play and has a nice punchy woody funky tone. The neck has a good balance of girth and width, it's comfortable, I could play it for hours. Once you get that quirky bridge set up for intonation, seems to hold tuning pretty well. The build quality is nothing to write home about, and with the exception of the "treble on" switch labeling coming off the acrylic control panel when the clear shipping protector layer was pulled off, there are no glaring quality problems. I really like the gold top paint job that apparently is a "limited run" thing. This bass is not for everyone or for every type of music, but for early Beatles, lite rock or acoustic based songs, this is a very good choice.
