The Hughes and Kettner Switchblade is the world’s first fully programmable Tube Amp with digital Multi-FX!
Six hand-selected tubes (12AX7 and EL34) are at the core of Switchblade's design. Its four channels are optimized to cover a wide range of tones from California clean to British crunch and classic rock to contemporary American hi-gain Nu Metal. The amp's FX-section provides considerable effects power with three independent blocks that all work simultaneously (Delay, Modulation and Reverb). The user interface offers classic tube amp look & feel but is fully programmable for a total of 128 different tube tones at the touch of a button! Includes MIDI-Board pedalboard controller.
Tube Amp Revolution
The World’s first fully programmable Tube Amp with digital Multi-FX.
For another first in guitar amp history, Hughes & Kettner has packed all the features guitarists have long been dreaming of into one amp: A genuine all-tube design and the boundless versatility of amp modeling. A bona fide tube amp. With tube-driven pre and power amps. And 4 channels that put the full arsenal of classic tones at your fingertips, from spine-tingling clean and crunch to singing lead and crushing ultra saturated sound. You don’t need external effects, because reverb, delay and the most popular modulation effects are already on board in top-drawer digital quality. Best of all, you can store all amp and effect settings in up to 128 presets and activate them live on stage at the touch of a button. And that means your sounds perfectly matched to your songs. No more panicky button-pushing between numbers. And today’s sweet-spot settings are saved many tomorrows to come.
Switchblade.
No compromises in features.
No compromises in handling ease.
And certainly no compromises in all-tube tone.

| Quality |
| Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? |
| i truly can't say enough about this amp. the effects are a dream..and the way that they integrate DOES NOT affect the tonality of the tube. doesn't sound processed or harsh or digitally distorted. |
|
| Reliability |
| How has it stood up over time? |
| great...been dropped from 5 feet..kicked around.. not a scratch |
|
| General |
| Your general opinion of this product. |
| simpy awesome |
|
| Playability and Feel |
| How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? |
| get this amp..at this price! worth every penny. i'd get my second if i could afford it right now. this is the real deal folks...NO line 6 bull here. this is ALL tube..and that means little if it sounds awful.
it's got amazing dynamics. put it on crunch, put some gain on, play softly for clean and play rougher for some kick. |
|
| Tone |
| Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? |
| you need this amp..and as far as volume..anyone should know that a quality all tube amp rated 50 watts is WAAAAYYY more than is needed.
the only thing i wish was that they had a 25 watt model or even a 15 watt model or maybe a powersoak switch of some kind.
just love it and if you don't get one, then you can look forward to many, many years of awful and expensive experimentation..this amp simply does it all VERY perfectly. |
|
| Finish |
| How did the stain or paint job look? |
| i had marshall, soldano, matchless, all kinds of very high priced boutique all tube amps. they all sounded great, but they are all ONE TRICK PONIES. that is, if you need several sounds, you need 3 to 4 $4000 amps! no way! |
|
| Action |
| How was the action out of the box? |
| ok-- i've played virtually every amp i could find, nothing fit the parameters of what i wanted until this amp. |
