Ibanez AGS83B Artcore Deluxe Guitar

The Ibanez AGS83B Artcore Deluxe Electric Guitar offers extra easy upper fret access.
The Ibanez AGS83B Artcore Deluxe features a 17th fret body joint which provides much easier playing in the upper registers than the 14th fret body joint found in traditional full and semi acoustic guitars. The AGS83 is another great example of Ibanez guitars like the Benson and Metheny models that are based on the traditional jazz box, but then extend the boundaries of the instrument. The AGS83 features a 2 5/8 inch wide semi acoustic body of flamed maple, sides, and back fitted with Artcore humbucking pickups.

Ibanez AGS83B Artcore Deluxe Features
  • Artcore Set In neck
  • 3 piece Maple and Mahogany Neck
  • Flamed Maple top, sides and back
  • 22 Large frets
  • Rosewood Fingerboard with binding
  • Artcore DX Inlay

A few words about Ibanez…
Without a doubt Ibanez is one of the world’s foremost guitar manufacturers. The Modern Era of Ibanez guitars began in 1957 and since then they have enjoyed incredible success. They continue to experiment with edgy designs and finishes but have never lost track of their roots. Their amazing Artcore line of hollowbodies are some of the most sought after guitars in the world and their RG line is a must-have for rock and metal fans alike. And don’t discount their bass guitars, cherished by musicians the world over. This is a company that can do it all - straight-ahead rock models, elegant hollow bodies and everything in between. They even have a nice line of pedals and accessories that pros and amateurs have grown to love. Find out for yourself why some performers won’t play anything else but Ibanez.

Subject:Good Value
Quality: Quality is good. The neck is very nice and the abalone is a nice touch and well done.
Sound: I think the pickups are pretty good. So does my buddy who's a master player who only plays Gibbys. He played it thru his Vox AC 15 and it sounded terrific.
Reliability: I've only had it a couple weeks but so far so good. It seems very solid
Overall: Very well made and solid. The finish looks a little cheap but not bad.
Playability and Feel: It's nice and light and feels good. The controls are easily accessible.
Tone: I dropped it off at my luthier today for new strings and a general look over so I doubt I've heard it's best tone but it wasn't bad even with the rusty strings.
Finish: I'm not nuts about the stain and the wood grain but for what I paid I can't complain.
Action: I bought this used though it's a 10/10 and the action was fine
Skill Level: Intermediate

Quality:
Subject:Very well made but poor pickups
Quality: Very high quality with the exception of the very cheap pickups
Sound: Poor quality pickups equall poor sound. It's a shame Ibanez builds such a weel made playable guitar and then slaps the same pickups into almost dvery electric guitar they make. If this had quality pickups it would be a steal, unfourtanetly the ACH pickups do not do this guitar justice..It sound average at best
Reliability: Very, Ibanez builds good guitars but their pickups leave alot to be desired
Overall: A very well made ,easy to play ,very good quality instrument but the pickups lack any depth or range. Cheap sounding and very 1 dimensional
Playability and Feel: Very easy to play feels marvelous in your hands but has poor sonics
Tone: Terrible. Throw in a Seymore Duncan 59 at the neck and a JB in the bridge and this thing screams!!
Finish: OK, Really nothing special here looks a little cheap
Action: Nice and low easy to play up and down the neck
Skill Level: Semi-Pro
Do you own this product?: Yes and after the mods it is a keeper
