Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Made well and so far it's only been used in rehearsals..we will see how she does when I throw her around on stage a bit but if she's like any of her cousins then she'll do just fine.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Had her about two weeks...so far no signs of any issues. Although One was sent previously and the pickup selector switch had broken off. AMS took no time in sending out a return authorization, shipping slip and a replacement guitar. Excellent customer service which is why I have spent a small fortune with this company over the years.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
Classic feel with a modern twist and great tone to boot. I'm a die hard Ibanez player and own several models and this one is no exception to why I love their guitars so much.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Feels awesome..takes a little bit of getting used to the painted neck if you aren't used to that and your thumb may stick a little but such is the case with most any painted neck. Otherwise she feels great and plays awesome.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
classic feeling but has plenty of room to get nasty. Good definition and tone. EmG's were a great stock selection for this guitar.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
She's a black beauty for sure!
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Comfortable for the most part. I play a different gauge strings in a different tuning usually than what comes stock in the box so I always have to adjust action and whatnot.
