Ibanez AS103 Artcore Custom Electric Guitar with Case

Ibanez AS103 Artcore Custom Electric Guitar with Case

Ibanez AS103 Artcore Custom Electric Guitar is an excellent Semi Hollow Body guitar, Great to Play, Incredible to look at!
The Artcore AS103 is a semi acoustic electric guitar that features a gorgeous all flame maple body, two Ibanez Custom 58 humbucking pickups, and the new fine tuner equipped Quik Change Ultra tailpiece, which offers easier string changes.

Ibanez stunned the music industry when the first Artcores were unveiled and the appearance of the Artcore Customs in 2005 seems to have had the same effect. No one would have blinked an eye if Ibanez had placed a price tag of over two grand on these beautiful boxes. But the Artcore Customs are less than half that. Now with a semi-acoustic model for players who want more sustain and feedback resistance to play at higher volumes, Ibanez presents a fully comprehensive series. Artcore Custom received two nominations by music industry retailers for the 2006 Music and Sound Awards, Electric Guitar of the Year and Product of Year.

In summer 2002, Ibanez turned the music industry upside down with the Introduction of Artcore guitars. No longer were full and semi-acoustic guitars just big expensive jazz boxes for jazz players - even some of their competitors bought them (no, we're not making this up). With Artcore guitars you get an amazingly affordable price plus the quality and tone you expect from Ibanez, the guitar company with over four decades of experience making full and semi-acoustic guitars.

Ibanez Artcore Features
  • The great complex tones found only in true full-hollow guitars
  • Unlike many so-called full-hollow guitars in the more affordable price ranges
  • which feature soundblocks, Ibanez Artcore full-acoustic models are truly full-hollow
  • Deluxe Artcore models (86 series) offer 3pc necks for additional stability and strength and upgraded appointments such as abalone inlays
  • Medium output Artcore pickups produce clear tones and work well with effects
  • AFS models feature full-sized bodies, but with thinner depths, and Vintage Vibratos which make these models especially prized by country and rockabilly players

Workmanship was right up there with Name Brands and even better than some in the last few years.

Sounds a lot better than the Epiphone DOt I had previously. I also like the sound better then the 72 Tele Thinline. More contemporary sounding and versatile

I found no faults nor blemishes of any kind. As long as I care for the guitar well, it will last a very long time. Some may criticize Artcores because they are made in China -- that fact has nothing to do with the quality of the instrument. The worst feature of this guitar is not the guitar itself but the case it is shipped with -- very poor quality. My case had the vinyl pulling off in five different places.

FEATURES:
The Super 58 pickups are far better than the ACH pickups on my other Artcore (AF75.) I have no problem with feedback on the AS-103 and there seems to be no unnecessary noise at any volume. My ACH pickups on the other Artcore are not as crisp nor quiet. The double-cut body style makes access to the 20th fret very easy. This guitar has great sustain -- far better than my other Artcore and as good or better than my son's Les Paul! The pickguard is beautiful, but placed high off the body -- it is likely to get scratched if not

I have the AS93 (looks like the AS103 w/o the gold hardware) and I believe the quality is as good as any guitar twice the price (~$800 price range)

FEATURES:
I love the way I can finally play bar chords cleanly up and down the neck. I couldn't do it on my friend's Strat or most of the semis or solid bodies in the music store.

VALUE:
See Quality, and yes, if the price was higher I would consider over the same priced competitor's guitar.

SOUND:
Clean, Crisp.

QUALITY:
This guitar is extremely well made. The finish is beautiful! I love the bright, yet smooth natural sound. The inlay work is excellent. I hope to keep this instrument for a long time.

FEATURES:
I like the "feel" of the guitar. It has it's own "soul." Very classy jazz box! I wouldn't recommend any changes to its design or construction.

EASE OF USE:
I like the factory set-up. I have no complaints with the quality. It was ready to play right out of the box.

VALUE:
This guitar is well worth the price. The overall value is unprecedented!

SOUND:
I like the sound through a Fender tube amplifier. It produces rich overtones. No feedback. The clean sound is pristine. I would use this guitar for jazz, blues, and country.
