Ibanez AS73 Semi Hollow Artcore Electric Guitar

You cant afford not to get the Ibanez AS73 Semi Hollow Artcore Electric Guitar!
If you thought the only good full or semi-hollow guitars were expensive (and the inexpensive ones weren’t any good), think again. Ibanez Artcore guitars represent thinking that’s way outside the box. No matter what kind of music you play – punk, alt rock, new rock, whatever – if you’re serious about adding rich tones to the mix, it’s time to stop just thinking about it. With Ibanez Artcore, you can now afford to go full or semi hollow. You can’t afford not to! The AS73 features a maple body, large frets, a Quickchange III tailpiece, and two ACH humbuckers.

From Ibanez...
When Ibanez Artcore guitars debuted in summer 2002, they turned the music industry upside down. No longer were full and semi acoustic guitars just big expensive jazz boxes for jazz players—even some of our competitors bought them (no, we're not making this up). With Artcore guitars you get an amazingly affordable price plus the quality and tone you expect from Ibanez, the guitar company with over four decades of experience making full and semi acoustic guitars.

A few words about Ibanez…
Without a doubt Ibanez is one of the world’s foremost guitar manufacturers. The Modern Era of Ibanez guitars began in 1957 and since then they have enjoyed incredible success. They continue to experiment with edgy designs and finishes but have never lost track of their roots. Their amazing Artcore line of hollowbodies are some of the most sought after guitars in the world and their RG line is a must-have for rock and metal fans alike. And don’t discount their bass guitars, cherished by musicians the world over. This is a company that can do it all - straight-ahead rock models, elegant hollow bodies and everything in between. They even have a nice line of pedals and accessories that pros and amateurs have grown to love. Find out for yourself why some performers won’t play anything else but Ibanez.

Overall: Nothing less than a Epiphone or more expensive Ibanez, this instrument is made in CHINA and it rocks, frets and neck are perfect, the action oput of the bow is already set up in a standard way, i lowered the action for my style and it souind perfect no noise or other trouble. this unit is a perfect Jazz or blues guitar, has a large fingerboard and worm tones, i use the bridge pickup only and closed tones and it sounds just like it should. I did not want to spend a fortune and now i foudn my self with a wonderfull-economin instrument and it sounds and plays perfect. I hook it up to my Roland stereo chorus and it is a perfect match. It sound OK also on a bandit 75W. Go to your local store...try it...love it and buy it at American Musical Supply where quality and service are at the highest level!

QUALITY:
I traded in an Epiphone Sheraton II for this, and I love it, although I've changed a few things on it.

FEATURES:
I changed the bridge to a roller bridge, put on a new tail piece, and witch hat knobs. The basic guitar is very nice, but I'm a pro, and I needed to soup it up.

EASE OF USE:
It plays like a dream, once I put lighter gauge strings on it, .009, .011, .015, .024, .030, .040. I also lowered the action via the truss rod, but it plays fast and smooth now. I also love how light it is, compared to a Gibson 335. I have a 330, which is hollow body, but I couldn't reach all the way to the top frets, which I can do easily with the AS73.

VALUE:
I was looking at a Gibson 335 at the music shop, but when I played the AS73, I put the Gibsons away, and never looked back. I have to hold this thing all night, every night, and it is a dream, playing so many different styles. It's worth absolutely every penny, and you'l

QUALITY:
The quality of this (along with all the other Artcore models I've tried) is outstanding! Yes, those Chinese do know how to build a high quality instrument. Excellent fretwork, binding, and nut. The neck angle is correct, and the playability/set-up out of the box was 95%. I did have to do a little filing on the bridge saddles, but no biggie. The finish is applied nicely although it doesn't look as nice as a Gibs@n nitro, but again no biggie. Huge Bang for the Buck factor.

FEATURES:
Lets see here... a laminated Maple body (like a Gibs@n 335), a Mahogany neck with Rosewood board (like a Gibby 335), and equally as impressive build quality as some of the higher end makers. The only features I'd add are higher quality pots/pickups/switch. But come on it's a $299 dinger!

EASE OF USE:
Great set-up out of the box. The neck pup was a bit crooked, all I did was remove the 4 mounting ring screws and it dropped right back into place. And
