Great 5 String
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Ibanez makes the best quality mass-production instruments in the world.
Features
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
Great features. Neck-thru, Bertolini pups and pre, swamp ash body, walnut veneers on front, maple/walnut 5-piece neck, playability out the yang... Whoever has rated this bass at a "1" didn't know what the F they were talking about.
Sound
How is its Tone?
Wonderfully even tone.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Big, thick, chunky bass. If you are used to Soundgears, this may not be the bass for you. Traditional feeling neck. I love the feel and playability of this bass. If you are considering a purchase, play it before you buy it.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Not boomy, bottom-heavy, mid-thick, or brassy/bright. Just even, punchy, good tone! Bertolini pre is very usable; frequency settings are good for this bass. Great bass for studio work or live application.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Flawless matte natural finish.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action out of the box was good. Slight truss rod adjustment.
