Ibanez DN500K Darkstone Electric Guitar

The Ibanez DN500K Darkstone is the new standard in heavy metal rock guitar. Featuring a deep resonant Sapele body, the DN500k Darkstone electric guitar offers strong construction and a smart body style which combine for a powerful, clean sound. Plus the Tight-Tune bridge and tailpiece locks down securely in three places to prevent sadde movement.

Tight-Tune Bridge and Tailpiece
Solid as a rock, the Tight-Tune bridge and tailpiece were designed to lock down securely and prevent any kind of wobble or movement. Each saddle is locked into the base plate, and the bridge is anchored by stud bolts into the guitar body. Studs are also locked onto the base plate for maximum transfer of string vibration to the body.

Pickups
PP1 neck and bridge pickups: the tube pole-piece construction offers quick response, sparkling clarity and added harmonics for a humbucker sound.

Coil Tap push-pull switch for added pickup tonal variation.

How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
After my set-up it plays like a dream! The neck isn't the traditional Wizard-style Ibanez is known for, it's rounder & thicker. I really enjoy it since it's comfy to play...
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
These pickups are very hot, but clean-up nicely when you roll off the volume knob.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Very nice white finish. MOP binding looks very classy & expensive. Ibanez work is top-notch!
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action was very good-I changed the strings for a heavier gauge, adjusted & intonated it. It's perfect for me...
