What is your overall opinion of this product?
This by far the Destroyer to get, regardless of country it was made. My first guitar was a DT155 in the same color, I had to give this guitar a try. I play Ibanez, mostly MIJ, so I was suprised on how well this played.
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
I was in shock with how well it looked, played and felt.
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
This is one of the best necks I have held in my hands. The 12" radius is great.
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
The Mahogany set neck and body sustains and has a lot of tone. The rosewood is warm, I am moore of a Seymour Duncan Player, but the sound is still worth it.
How did the stain or paint job look?
few finish scuffs that I can live with. Other than that it is a great finish, perfect for anyone who wants to clone a DT555 that Phil Collen played.
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
Actual yes, I normally pay between $1000-$1600 for MIJ and USA guitars. This was worth the $700.
How was the action out of the box?
Action was perfect, intonation needs to be set.
