The 'Tree of Life' inlay and original metal plate rosette give the EP10 a fantastic elegant look. The Fishman Aura IC preamp has 4 pre-set images customized specifically for Steve Vai which give a great array of tone for virtually any style.

The concept behind this guitar works well as its made for playing plugged in. The thin body feels great and you can see the fretboard with it strapped on.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Once setup, it plays excellent. Ibanez should have taken it a step further with larger frets.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The Fishman system sounds great. The 4 presets are limited and should be left to the buyer to dial in.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Its stunning from the neck inlays to the body edging. The Grover keys are very responsive and look awesome.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Out of the box it was a nightmare as far as neck action. The neck was bowed and the action was a mile high. I had to sand down the bridge once I adjusted to truss to get the neck even. This guitar screams for 10 gauge strings, not he coat hangers Ibanez ships it with. The rosewood on the neck and bridge was very dry and needed oil asap! This is an expensive guitar and a signature model so you think Ibanez would go the extra mile to address these issues. No case... repeat, no case! The guitar dimensions make finding a hard shell case an issue and good luck finding it on they're website. WTF Ibanez!!
