The EP5 has a special Vai 12th fret inlay and Fishman Sonicore pickup, featuring an Ibanez AEQ210TF preamp, designed for thin bodied acoustic applications. This acoustic electric offers what Vai refers to as 'bright crisp tone that allows it to sit on top of the mix.'
