Ibanez EWN28 Classical Acoustic Electric Guitar

The Ibanez EWN28 classical is a true work of art.
What makes a true work of art? The beauty of the craftsmanship? The detail of the lines and curves? The subtlety of the color and hue? All of the above, but the most important aspect is that connection with an audience, the spark that speeds up the heartbeat and ignites the imagination.

You won’t find anything quite like the exquisite Ibanez Exotic Wood Series, even among guitars that are much more expensive. These instruments look beautiful enough for gallery display and yet are ready for any type of gig. Now, that’s an artistic accomplishment. Fitted with a mahogany neck, abalone rosette, Ibanez chrome die cast B Band UST pickup, Ibanez SRTn preamp with notch filter and onboard tuner.

The EWN28 also comes with balanced 1/4 inch and XLR outputs, rosewood bridge and fretboard, Ivorex II nut and saddle and Advantage bridge pins. Way more than you would ask for at an unbeatable price.

Subject:systemic, production line KOA intonation problems
Quality: Looks great, sounds good but it seems Ibanez cannot get the math right.
Reliability: As good as it was the first day -- which is not good in terms of intonation.
Overall: No matter the cost, intonation is not negotiable. I have had my KOA worked on twice and the luthier says it cannot be fixed. Intonation above the 8th fret is noticeably off and, for me, unplayable above the 10th fret due to octaves on 2nd and 5th strings being out of tune. The store swapped it with one right out of the box and the luthier said it had the same production line problems...the bridge was not correctly lined up with the strings (not perpendicular) and he said he would never be able to get the intonation right.
Playability and Feel: nice feel, soft easy action. Some buzz
Tone: tone is a little thin, but amplified it sounds nice.
Finish: great finish, beautiful colors
Action: very good

Subject:THIS AXE ROCKS!!!
Quality: I really cannot believe the quality of this guitar. The finish is awesome, it plays very fast and clean and so far it appears to be very well made. And the electronics are awesome with a 3 band EQ, Onboard tuner with mute and built in direct box.
Reliability: I have only had it a few weeks and am going to be taking it live in the not too distant future. I will have to get back to you on how well it performs in a live setting. but from what I've seen so far I cannot see being disappointed.
Overall: This has to be one of the biggest bangs for the buck. It makes me wonder how the other acoustics in this line perform. If you are looking for an classical guitar for personal or live performances, this guitar just cannot be beat.
Playability and Feel: I am a semi-pro finger picker and this is one of the best playing guitars I have ever had the pleasure of playing. The neck is just a bit wider than most acoustic guitars but not as wide as some classical guitars which lends to a very fast neck. The back of the neck is very smooth. It almost plays itself.
Tone: As you would expect unplugged this guitar is very quiet but plugged in the electronics are very responsive. Can't wait to take it live. And an added bonus is the onboard tuner mutes the guitar while tuning. . . plus it has a built in direct box which means one less item to carry for live shows.
Finish: Has to be one of the best looking guitars I've seen. Very pretty to look at and you can see in the finish that care was taken to put the woods together just right. It's not thrown together but very well thought out.
Action: It arrived very well protected with the strings relaxed. I then tuned it using the onboard tuner and it plays flawlessly and intonnated next to perfect.

Subject:Sycamore finish - excellent guitar
Quality: Excellent quality of finish and set up right out of the box. Very pleased so far. LOVE in on board tuner.
Reliability: Too soon to tell
Overall: Worth every penny and then some
Playability and Feel: Neck is thin and easy to play for me. I'm just getting back into playing the guitar after about 15 yrs. I use it basically for accompanying my Music classes. So, I'm not a terrifically proficient player (Tuba player by trade)
Tone: Great sound with amp low to highs. It's ok without the amp but thin, really made for using an amp.
Finish: WOW - terrific looking guitar. Very fine. lots of compliments.
Action: Great-see other remarks

"I really liked the live Chat feature. I also was very impressed with the Live product demostration video by Line 6 Variax Guitars on the Acoustic and Classical versions. This was very integral in making my decision, as was the live Chat." Nov '09
