What is your overall opinion of this product?
Ibanez knows how to make great inexpensive instruments.
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
The neck is straight, the frets are flat and the finish is fine. The PJ pickups give this bass a lot of sound options.
Are the features on the product what you were expecting? What are your favorite features?
I have bought a few Ibanez basses and pretty much knew what I was getting. This bass delivered the goods.
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Medium neck thickness that feels right at home. The size of the knobs make them easy to turn.
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
The Jazz pickup helps give the P pickup that added snap and growl. PJ setups have a very unique sound to them.
How did the stain or paint job look?
Smooth and shiny.
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
At $199 this was a great deal but, when the price dropped to $149 I jumped.
How was the action out of the box?
The action was great and only the A string was out of tune. I can easily tune by ear but, though it was funny it came out of the box almost ready to play.
