    Product Description

This Ibanez JSM10 is part of Scofield’s signature series instruments which reflects his desire to offer a guitar that meets his high standards, but falls within the reach of young working players. The JSM10’s semi-hollow Flamed Maple Body is visually refined work of craftsmanship that enables clean, clear, warm tone: a character further enhanced by the solid Sapele neck.

For extended tone options, the JSM10 comes with two Super 58 custom pickups and a Tri-Sound switch for the neck pickup that allows you to select humbucker in series (traditional), parallel (brighter, single coil type tone w/ lower output and hum cancellation) or coil-tapping for a single coil sound. An ART1 bridge provides improved sustain and tuning stability. Includes hard shell case.

Trying to label John Scofield’s work is nearly impossible: post-bop, funk-edged jazz, R&B…for all we know he may be inventing a whole new genre at this very moment. And for as varied as his musical stylings are, there also seems no end to the breadth of Scofield’s musical collaborations. Whether challenging the form with Pat Metheny, cruising with Medeski, Martin & Wood, or jamming with Gov’t Mule, the soulfulness of Scofield’s tone and chops makes him instantly recognizable to his ever-growing legion of fans.

What is your opinion of this product?
Now that I've had this guitar for a month I can review it with some accuracy. First off it's good to know this is a quality guitar. It feels well made and very small details have been checked. That being said the one factor you need to know is this guitar has a fat neck. I'm talking 1959 Gibson 335 baseball size neck. It's a handful and yet after playing it for a day or so it seems perfectly fine and easy to get around on. The pickups are very lively. Bright and toneful. The body has a nice vibration when the volume is pushed a bit. I can tell in a few years this baby is going to be sweet. Fit and finish are beautiful. 12 inch radius means you can lower the action and it won't fret out. The other parts are first class. It stays in tune beautifully and can be sweet or growl depending how you set your amp. The tri sonic switch is ok. I don't use it but others might. This is a top quality guitar and worth every dollar.
