Nice guitar for the money
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Build quality seems good except for one minor glitch with the fret dressing.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I've only had it for a month, but I don't anticipate any problems
General
Your general opinion of this product.
This is a very good guitar for the money - especially when one considers that it comes with a very nice hard case. The only glitch I found was a high spot on the 14th fret on the treble side. This was causing the E and B strings to go dead when fretted at the 12th and 13th frets. After close examination I discovered that this was not a set-up issue but was caused by a visible high spot on the 14th fret. It was very easy to remedy - some discreet use of a fret file and an emory board, fixed it up quickly. Still, it shouldn't have gone through QC like that. With that problem fixed, I am very happy with this purchase. I wanted a concert size guitar as I already own three dreadnaught sized acoustics - a Martin D-28, a Takamine G340SC, and an Ovation 1996 Collectors Edition Legend(made in New Hartford). As I knew when I bought it, the concert sized body is lighter in the lower frequncies, but seems to highlight the mids and trebles nicely - which is just what I was looking for.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The action is quite low and fast for an acoustic - I'm pretty sure it came through with light strings and that is what I replaced them with(Martin Marquis lights). Feels and sounds very nice. Really a pleasure to play. Controls are easy to access and work fine. Wish the tuner could be used when not plugged in, but that is nit-picking at this price.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Has a nice, fairly articulate sound which is tilted upward a little. Again - this is to be expected with the smaller concert size body and is what I was looking for. A bit of a tonal change from my dreadnaughts. Records well.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
I have not found any blemishes in the finish. Again, in this price range I think it is a very handsome guitar. Very comfortable to play with the smaller, shallower body.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Except for the previously mentioned high fret, the action is very nice. Low enough to be comfortable to play, but with no string rattle or fret outs. I'm quite pleased with the action right out of the box.
