Ibanez RG3550MZ Prestige Electric Guitar with Case
The Ibanez RG3550MZ Prestige Electric Guitar features the powerful combination of a 5 piece maple/walnut Super Wizard Prestige neck with a bound maple fretboard and Wedge Sharktooth inlay, Edge Zero tremolo bridge with ZPS3 spring system and 3 pickups. Case is included.
Edge-Zero Tremolo
The Edge-Zero, Ibanez's latest generation of knife edge tremolos, deploys all of the unique features of the ZR trem and allows for the most radical of trem effects with flawless tuning accuracy. Just unscrew the built-in intonation adjustment tool from the base of the tremolo and screw it into the bottom of each saddle for quick adjustments. The locking bolt is offset from the center of the saddle, which allows easy access to the bolt without loosening the strings.
Pickups
The RG3550MZ features a DiMarzio Air Norton in the neck position, DiMarzio True Velvet in the middle and DiMarzio Tone Zone in the bridge.
DiMarzio Air Norton Neck Pickup The tone is deep and warm, but not muddy. It's hot, but not distorted. It's even got cool harmonics, which are really unusual for a neck humbucker.
DiMarzio True Velvet Middle Pickup
A vintage-style single-coil pickup that's clean and bright, but designed to still sound sweet when picking above the 12th fret. Coil is tuned to a frequency range that’s bright but not thin.
DiMarzio Tone Zone Bridge Pickup
Hot enough to qualify as a high-output pickup, but has a wider dynamic range--hard picking will produce a lot of power, and softer picking will be much cleaner and quieter.

| | | Subject: | Great Guitar! | | Quality:
| This is one of the best built guitars I've ever seen! Classics may be cool because of the history, but, other than some hand built guitars (and very few of them), the new Prestiges are light years ahead! | | Sound:
| Always a compromise with pickups, but this guitar has a very good range. | | Reliability:
| I've only had it just over a month, but it's an Ibanez Prestige, unless you break it, it's not going to break. | | Overall:
| Amazing instrument! Built for real players! There's not really a spot for it here, but I have to mention, the case and little features (allen wrench holder on head, adjustability and quality of bridge) are really, really nice! | | Playability and Feel:
| Here's where the Prestige series shines! This thing just inspires you to play like you never have before! If you buy one, make sure you set aside a few hours at least when no one will bother you, so you can just play for the joy of it! | | Tone:
| Like I said it's always a compromise, the bridge pickup is not the hottest, but with a pedal or the right amp, you can get a huge range out of this thing! The first guitar I've bought in years that I didn't change the pickups right away! | | Finish:
| Flawless! | | Action:
| Not bad, had to lower it a little, but I didn't have to adjust the truss rod. | | Skill Level:

| Superb, I'm sure! My only concern -- which is a small issue with my other Prestige (which happens to have the Galaxy Black finish) | | Sound:
| GREAT-sounding! | | Reliability:
| I'm sure it will stand the test of time. | | Overall:
| This guitar is everything it's cracked up to be. It's my second Prestige purchase, and this one is looks, feels, plays, and sounds exactly as described. | | Playability and Feel:
| The neck is awesome, like all Prestige Wizard necks, but this one is even more exceptional with maple fretboard (and because it's called a "Super Wizard", I guess)! It's as smooth as a baby's butt. Also, all of the knobs and controls are high-quality and nice and tight. | | Tone:
| A great pickup combination -- three different pickups, all of which have tones that complement the others. The in-between switch positions also sound very nice, like having five pickups! Played clean, they are truly warm enough to play jazz, but the bridge and middle pickups can get twangy enough for country. Not Tele twangy, of course, but bright enough to get by. Played dirty, they're very round, thick, and crunchy -- not excessively bright and buzzy like a lot of so-called "shredder" guitar pickups. | | Finish:
| The Galaxy White finish is white with just a hint of light silver metal flake mixed in, which is so subtle that it doesn't show up in the pictures. Very cool, and exactly what I expected. My only concern will be how well the paint resists bumps and other minor abuse. My other Prestige - which has the Galaxy Black finish - chipped very easily on the back end when it slipped off a stand its butt hit the floor. So, be careful and don't bump an floors, walls, or the instruments of your bandmates! | | Action:
| For the first time ever, this thing had a very playable setup right out of the box! Nice, low action, and it was even still in tune! | | Skill Level:
