Ibanez RG770DX Limited Reissue Electric Guitar with Case
The Ibanez RG770DX Limited Reissue Electric Guitar has all the great details of the original 1987 model plus some improvements. The RG770DX's basswood bodies, pickups, pickguards, knobs, headstocks and sharktooth inlays are all either Ruby Red or Lazer Blue. As in 1987, these RG's feature DiMarzio/IBZ pickups, the original Edge tremolos and, most importantly, the original fast and flat Wizard necks. The Wizard neck has the same dimensions as the original but now features a 5 piece maple/walnut construction for even greater strength and stability.
The RG770DX features a thin neck with a wide, almost flat, double octave (24 fret) fret board, great for the performance of chords and solos. The body of the RG Series features sleek, offset pointed double cutaways giving better access to the upper frets. This limited reissue features an Ibanez Edge Tremolo; a double locking tremolo system for the electric guitar very similar in design to that of the original Floyd Rose. The Edge offers a number of improvements from the Original Floyd Rose; it contains a heavy sustain block, locking studs (for improved tuning stability), and a pop-in arm. Compliment the playability of this guitar with a matching headstock and sharktooth inlays for a seriously rocking look!
RG770DX is a peerless example of precision Japanese craftsmanship.

| As I expect from the Prestige line, this guitar simply oozes quality. Fit and finish is perfect, and it was set up and ready to play from the moment I took it out of the case. OK, fine, I did have to tune it first, but that was IT! | | Reliability:
| Had it since Christmas (a BIG thank you to my wife!), so it's only been two months. With care, I'm sure it will last as long as any of my three Ibanez Artists from the late '70s that I own | | Overall:
| Excellent, excellent, EXCELLENT! | | Playability and Feel:
| Nicely balanced, and the neck just makes you want to play FAST. This is definitely not the guitar for a Blues guy, but for balls-out, in-your-face-shred you're not gonna beat this instrument | | Tone:
| Tone-wise, it favors the fat "mid" sound you would expect from a metal shred machine such as this. Highs are bright and clear, no mud down low. I own (at present) 17 guitars, and this one has by far the most distortion-happy p'ups I"ve ever played. They clean up OK, though not as well as a LP or any of the classic Artists I own....but what do you expect? This guitar is made to ROCK OUT, and it does it as good (or better than) anything else | | Finish:
| Paint was perfect, the matching knobs and p'ups are way cool, and I love the clear pick guard. Sure, it's mostly for looks since this guitar doesn't have a front-route cavity, but DAAYUMM, the overall effect is too cool. Looks good in the pics, but wait 'till you see it in person. Nice contrast with the inlays against the maple neck, again, the overall effect is really cool. I got the blue one, but that red one looks VERY tempting....my wife's gonna kill me! | | Action:
| Action and intonation was perfect for me, I promptly slapped on a new set of .009's, and it was ready for giggin'. | | Skill Level:

| Excellent quality, though I had the poor tremolo bar, which I could not replace through the factory nor any outlet because of it's design, which was / is not typical. | | Sound:
| Tonal variations are exceptional. It's wired to sound Stratty, Les Paulish, and resonates tone of it's own with subtle edge. It's light weight basswood body reverberates bell tones with precise intonation, and adjustability. | | Reliability:
| After 2 years, the tremolo bar snapped off. When attempting to order a new one, I ended up having to call Ibanez directly, upon which I was told I could only buy the entire tremolo system for $350. I ended up very upset about that, but found a replacement. It was strange how it snapped on a dive one day. I have 2 replacements now, and neither of those have broke. | | Overall:
| An electric guitar with a neck like a classical guitar, but thinner. Once you start playing it, you will see how it demands accuracy in your finger techniques, yet even mistakes sound good when the strings are perfectly in tune. I love this guitar. I bought it through AMS in 1990.. | | Playability and Feel:
| Plays like a classical guitar, and as such, one can use finger plucking or picking. It is very playable and it actually improved my playing. | | Tone:
| Tonal variations are glassy to mid, to deep thick. The bridge does have a thinner sound then what I expected, but it not enough to disturb me from adjusting a preamp or amp. | | Finish:
