| Very high quality instrument, built like a tank, yet, it's not too heavy. I've been playing guitar for 26 (is that possible) years now and have owned quite a few guitars. My two favorites are a 99 american strat and a peavey wolfgang. I compared the Ibanez to them..and just listened as well. My conclusion is the ibanez is an awesome guitar and much more versatile then i had figured it would be. | | Reliability:
| I have only owned it for a half of a week, so i don't know how reliable it will be, but from what i see, i don't think there will be any problems. | | Overall:
| Spending this amount of money on a guitar, naturally, i was worried i wouldn't like it, or it wouldn't compare to my other guitars. I have an american strat from 99 that is a great sounding strat, and a wolfgang, which sounds great too. This Ibanez easily stands toe to toe with them. | | Playability and Feel:
| It has a high quality feel when played. Like i said earlier, it doesn't feel too heavy. Feels good when i play while sitting down too. The edge zero trem is awesome. I can actually play country like bends and stuff on here, which is unheard of on a floating trem guitar. I can even use the fine tuner to drop d tune without unlocking up at the nut. The rest of the strings stay stable. | | Tone:
| Ok, when i ordered this, i anticipated it being similar to my two humbucker wolfgang. Maybe 3 usuable sounds at best. My wolfgang is really only good for one thing, in your face hard rock/metal..not a lot of sublety to that guitar. This Ibanez, wow. It has what the wolfgang has..but more refined. It can scream, yet with the 5 way switch, it's capable of some nice clean sounds, in the middle position on clean..it has a telecaster like tone, i found myself playing country things on it with that tone. The neck position with disort has an awesome shredder tone. There are a lot of subtle things about the tones, rich and full, that you don't hear on other guitars. And coming from me that's saying something, cause my strat is amazing sounding, and i've gotten a lot of compliments from other musicians over the years on how good it sounds. This Ibanez is right up there with it, and offers a lot of tones i can't get with my strat of course. | | Finish:
| Beautiful. The red is a little darker looking than it is on the pic..but gets lighter with more light. Some of the finish comes up the back of the neck..very sharp looking. It definetly has the look! | | Action:
| I thought the action was a little bit too high..but i was able to adjust that. I don't like it super low either, some players might. It looks like adjustments would be easy, but you should refer to the book. It plays nice..the neck is a little wider than my other guitars, but it plays so nice. You can play shred on here, but other syles too..classic rock..blues..some jazz with the neck pickup on clean..and even country because of the very stable bridge. | | Skill Level:
