The Ibanez S7420QM 7 String Electric Guitar continues to be a marvel of form and function. Arched flamed maple top and mahogany back body effectively positions the strumming/picking hand optimally for anything from a fast riffing to fat, full power chords. The fast, flat and slim Wizard II-7 necks are built for speed and comfort while the ZR Zero Resistance tremolo with ball bearings offers smooth arming. | My Review of Ibanez 7420QM |
| Quality |
| Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? |
| This is a good guitar could have used some more planing of the frets especially rounding of the edges, however, it does not affect the playability. |
|
| Reliability |
| How has it stood up over time? |
| I have had this for a month and looking forward to playing it out in public next month. |
|
| General |
| Your general opinion of this product. |
| The finish, I got the red one, is excellent, really a stunning looking guitar. |
|
| Playability and Feel |
| How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? |
| it was set up nicely out of the box but the action was a little high, I just simply trimmed down the trem and it was good to go. After a few days the action relaxed and the neck needed to be adjusted. Very common due to the humidity here where I live. No problems adjusting, really like the cover which does not use screws! |
|
| Tone |
| Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? |
| The tone is good, however, I am planning on replacing the stock pickups as they are quite weak in my opinion. I am going to replace with a Crunch Lab and an Air Norton. |
|
| Finish |
| How did the stain or paint job look? |
| Finish is excellent but like I said above, the frets could have been rounded off on the edges of the neck. |
|
| Action |
| How was the action out of the box? |
| Nice out of the box, needed adjustment after a few days which is perfectly normal. Overall, I am exceptionally happy with my purchase. |
