Subject:Ibanez SR-305 : $350 Gets You A lot Of BASS!!!
Quality: Yes this is very well made bass for the money. The Iron Pewter finish looks awesome and is flawless. The only thing I could really find wrong with the bass was the fret edges were alittle rough, but it didn't really detract from the overall smooth playability of the neck.
Features: The 2 best features on this bass are the new Style Sweeper 3-band active Eq which offers tons of tonal variation, and the slim 5 piece neck, which is very comfortable and very player friendly.
Sound: The sound of this bass is just as nice as the rest of the bass with lots of low end, growling mids, and clear highs. The Ibanez housebrand pickups really belt out the sound clearly without mudding up at higher volumes on your amp. Well I wouldn't have to worry about that, because I own the most coveted bass amp on the planet the: Ampeg 810 SVT-E cab and Ampeg SVT-CL head!
Playability and Feel: This bass is suprisingly very light and extremely well balanced. The neck is smooth, slim, and very comfortable. The only I had to do was change out the OEM strings and replace them with some D'Addario's and adjust the relief alittle and I was off and ROCKIN"!
Tone: The tone is great! You can go from snappy and bright all the way to smooth and mellow and everything in between. I find that this bass is extremely versitle for the money!
Finish: The Iron Pewter finish was flawless and just like glass!
Action: The bass required new strings and a little set up, but nothing major.
