Ibanez SR505 5 String Electric Bass Guitar

Ibanez SR505 5 String Electric Bass Guitar

Since 1987, bassists who want the power and versatility of active electronics and the speed of the fastest neck available have made Soundgear standard equipment in every genre. As music evolves, so does the Soundgear concept. The SR500 family is one example of this evolution. The 5-string version is a huge upgrade in playability and tone. The SR505 models feature a fast SR5 neck (jatoba/bubinga), a mahogany body, and Bartolini MK1 pickups. Onboard Bartolini 3-band EQ provides precise tone control.

SR505 Series Features

  • Thinner necks with thinner nuts than traditional basses.
  • Sleek bodies that are lightweight, balanced and comfort contoured.
  • Active EQ's perfectly matched with the right choice of passive or active pickups.

Sleek, sexy and sonically versatile are the reasons Soundgears can be found in every kind of music from gospel to goth to garage rock. Bassists who want the power and versatility of active electronics and fastest neck available have made the Soundgear standard equipment in the most controlled studio environments and the most out-of-control live performances.

love the finish,wouldn't change anything

FEATURES:
The best part of this bass are the bart pickups and active electronics If I would change anything it would be the output jack, I don't really like the location or the angle... requires a straight 1/4 inch jack.

EASE OF USE:
I'm playing it in place of my 64 fender jazz, thats how much I like it

VALUE:
Good price comparedto local music shops but got stung on the international Fed EX charges ..ouch!

SOUND:
I have owned a Fender Jazz Bass ( 1969 vintage )and a Gibson -Ripper many years ago,( over 30 years of playing bass). This Ibanez SR505 sounds as good as the "Ripper" with no sacrifices in low end rumble. And it has great treble for pop's in slap mode. This is be best all round gig machine I have owned.

Jazz and Funk ,

this bass is very well made. i use it all the time for live and recording work.

FEATURES:
the pick ups make this bass. now if i'mlooking to bay a new bass it has to have barts. the bart pre amp is outstanding, you have controls for all three wave lenths.

EASE OF USE:
it's a bass. if can't use it, you should not be playing it.

VALUE:
i took back a spector and got this. have the control from the pre amp is what hooked me. i think that they could charge 200 more and it would still be worth it.

SOUND:
the lows are creamy and undistorted. the mids are tight and clear. the highs are beatiful and singing. the best part is, if you hear it in your head, you can get it from this bass.

STYLE:
rock/metal

MUSIC EXPERIENCE:
15yrs

OVERALL:
of all the 13 insterments in my collection, i would never let this one go. the pic gives the finish no justice. i love
