Ibanez SR600 Electric Bass Guitar; Soundgear tone with an impressive natural vibe!
Ibanez Soundgear basses have been providing smooth low-end rhythms in every style of music you can imagine. This 2009 Soundgear bass guitar offers tonality that rivals its structure. The SR600 features Ibanez' Bartolini MK-1 pickups and a 3 band EQ's to give you a well pronounced sound that's easy to control. Its 5-piece, Jatoba/Bubinga SR4 neck with a rosewood fingerboard make it as playable as it is visible. 24 Medium Jumbo frets and an Accu-Cast B20 bridge, float in the tone of the SR600.

The workmanship of this bass was fine.

Features:

I especially enjoy the placement of the 9volt battery into a compartment of its own. It is much easier to access than my Fender Lyte, or other Ibanez basses that I own.

Sound:

Awesome! I like for my basses to sound good without turning knobs. I hate "too many knobs"! My ideal bass is one that only has a volume control... Plug-N-Play!!!

Playability and Feel:

The SR Bass necks are know for their smallness. After a bit of tweaking for my playing preferences, this neck is very fast and comfortable to play. The weight of the bass was a particular buying point for me. The bass only weighs seven pounds.

Tone:

I have tried other Ibanez basses without the Bartolini pickups, but they did not have the punchy tone that I prefer. This bass has the tonal ability to please many.

Finish:

The Walnut finish was my preference. I enjoy the look of the wood-grain, and the mother-of-pearl inlays on the fretboard.

Action:

The action out of the box was too high for my preference. I immediately had the neck straightened, and the action lowered. I also replaced the strings for a lighter scale that is to my preference.
