Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Very well made, would gig with it solo, but I still love my old SR800 so it'll be rolling out to shows with me too. This is my new go-to bass though.
Features
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
Neck through, Active EMG's with 3 band and a high mass bridge... what more could you want aside from flush mount strap locks and a locking input jack (already done), only minor gripe was the plastic knobs. I have 5 other Ibanez's and they all have metal, even the concentric pot 3 bands I have. I think these are OEM EMG knobs.

How is its Tone?
Beefy, has more clarity than my other Ibanez's (all with the AFR P/J's and 3 bands, but doesn't seem to get as dirty like I like it. I'll get it dialed in though. One note- it seems to work much better with my AKG 4000 wireless than my other SR's- better dymaics.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Perfect. The SRT neck is a bit chunkier than a standard SR neck, but that's a good thing.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Bright, Mellow, Piano Tones, Slappy just about whatever you want. Hard to dial in a good growl, but my RBI preamp takes care of that nicely.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Factory finish was flaw-free, fret dressing was very good for off the shelf. Had a minor crack in the finish on the top of the body from handling I suppose. The minor crack is the only reason for 4 stars. I don't believe it was "as produced" but it was how the bass was received.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action out of the box was quite good. Not as good as it could be, but quite good. Intonation was spot on. My guitar players play in drop C so I tune C, F, A#, D# to keep the standard 5ths. Action held up nicely even with stock strings tuned that low. That lasted a day before I swapped to a set of DR Black Beuties with a .125 low B tuned to my standard tuning, took a bit of bridge filing to fit the B (C) string in and of course some filing of th nut and a couple cranks of the truss rod. Dialed in VERY nice with minimal work.

I really like the EMG's and the on board EQ. You can really get a wide range of tones. |

Tone is phenomenal. Love the EMG's. I have an SR305 and I was trying to figure out how to put EMG's in it. Well. Is you guys make one so I don have to! |

Again. It's an Ibanez. The neck is fast, the contoured body is very comfortable. Controls are easy to get to and for the most part are smooth. The mid sweep pot was a little scratchy right out of the box, which was a little lame, but overall no other complaints. |
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Pickups are hot. It has a lot of potential for different tone. I like a bassy grisly kind of dirty tone, but I was able to dial in a nice punchy tone for slapping if I need it. Onboard EQ allows for all types of tones.

It's an Ibanez. Enough said. They always have the best action. Nice and low with a fast neck. |
