Ibanez PD7 Phat Hed Bass Overdrive Pedal

This Tone Lok pedal lets bass players rule the stage, right along with the guitar players. Loaded with growling low-end distortion, the PD7 levels the playing field for the rock bassist. The PD7 is armed with three pre-amp style voicings and an attack control switch, which accents the amount of harmonic content in your sound. With Drive, Lo, Hi and Level knobs, dialing in a thunderous bass sound has never been easier.

On the outside, Tone Lok effects are equipped with Ibanez' exclusive "set and forget" Push-Lok rotary pots. Push the knobs down and your tone settings lock securely inside the case. No more lost settings or knobs broken by ticked off lead vocalists stomping off the stage.

On the inside, Tone Lok pedals feature hi-fidelity components carefully tweaked with the constant input from a new generation of Ibanez players. And all this great stuff comes encased in cool looking, road tough metal boxes at prices the working player can afford.

Bass Demon from NYC, BALT, DC, VA, CHI, STL
Subject:Bargain: Versatile, Built Like a Small Tank
Quality: I normally use Boss, Dunlop, and the other snob-brands. I heard this one was a bargain. It is! It delivers exactly what you want in the OD and Dist depts, and it sounds better than stompboxes twice the price. Unlike "affordable" effects, this one's heavy and solidly built.
Features: I'd add nothing. The great thing about this box, IMHO, is that you have your overdrive and your distortion in on place, so no need to get two stompboxes. Also, the locking dials give you one less thing to worry about: Why don't the "boutique" effects have 'em?
Sound: Overdrive can be driven to make my bass sound like Tube-amped Geezer Butler in Sabbath's early albums, and that's an honour! Distortion can be driven to make my bass screech like some major-league demon, which is no small feat for a low-octave instrument. It sounds great. GREAT.
Playability and Feel: The neck is fast...yeah, okay: Heavy, stays where you put it. No, only a nitwit would try to get to the controls on any stompbox while playing (unless there's a long bass-free interlude, God Forbid). But they're easy to get to when you should: Prior to the gig, btwn songs, and btwn sets.
Tone: Discussed in "Sound."
Finish: No defects in finish. No cheap peeling decals. This box looks new after a year of rock n' roll.
Action: Uh, N/A
