Quality: Perfect, rock solid. I would use this pedal live without a backup. Oh, by the way, I can tell you this pedal eats batteries like a fat boy eats Twinkies so you might want to get a good (regulated) a/c adaptor.
Sound: The tone is sweet and wicked. It works equally well with singing-coils and hamburgers. I tried it with a Marshal DSL 401 and a Fender Cyber Deluxe and it worked great with both. The pedal is advertised as true bypass and there is absolutely zero tone "sucking". The WD7 has separate volume, Q and bass EQ controls so you can tailor the sound to any situation you may encounter. Many wahs really mess with you low end... not the WD7. The bass remained perfectly intact, even as the wah swept the lower octaves of its' spectrum. The Weeping Demon is dead silent when disengaged and doesn't add any additional noise when on.
Reliability: The pedal has a gorgeous titanium-like metallic finish and is cast aluminum (I believe). Since its' from the tone lock series, the three pots on the pedals surface are spring loaded and can be adjusted and then pushed in where they won't get damaged and you settings will not be accidentally disturbed
Overall: I've owned many wahs over the years and currently own a pile of them. This wah is sooooooo smooth! Perhaps because there is no pot or rack and pinion system. This is an optical wah so you'll never have the hassle of a scratchy pot. I've tried other opicals and did not care for their sound so I was a bit apprehensive about the WD7. This wah is spot on. I rated another wah a week or so ago and it sounds great but already, the pot is starting to act up.
Playability and Feel: The pedal has the best feel of any wah I've ever used, bar none! I didn't think that I'd like or use the auto-on feature... wrong! I gave it a shot and it worked so well, it's still in the auto-on more... sweet! The WD7 uses a clever and reliable lever system to switch from auto-on to switching the wah on and off with the foot switch that is mounted to the right of the rocker. Incidentally, this is the best way to use a wah in the foot switch mode. You can "park" the rocker anywhere along it travel and use the wah as a boost and/or EQ by engaging the foot switch.
Tone: Perfect, very flexible and adjustable. Sounds every bit as good as my Budda, BBE, 535Q, Fulltone, FX-17, FrankenWhipple, HIWATT, GCB-95, GCP-95C, etc. etc... perhaps better!
Finish: Understated beautiful mat silver metallic finish. The WD7 looks like it was built by aliens from another galaxy!... really other worldly.
Action: This is the smoothest wah you will ever find. Although there is an adjustment for the rockers resistance, right out of the box the rocker was smooth to the point of being therapeutic!

Subject:This pedal is dynamite!
Quality: 1st of all, its Ibanez - that should tell you right off the bat what the quality is. Its definitely made of quality material and looks every bit like its name - Demon - ready to go!
Reliability: I haven't had it long enough to say but if its anything like the name it bears, it will be superb!!!!
Overall: From the moment I plugged it into my pedal series, I knew it was going to be just what I wanted in a great Wah/combo pedal. There is only one problem I have and it has nothing to do with the item itself. I have the large Black Kross SK-110B Pedalboard case and even though its the large one, the lid will not close and latch. Its a large pedal so you need plenty of room for it. Since this pedal is a keeper for sure, I intend to "notch" out a portion of the high-end of the board itself and (for lack of a better word) counter-sink the top portion of the unit into it. I'm sure it will work.
Playability and Feel: It feels great and as I mentioned earlier, its a keeper for sure and I'll compensate other areas to accomodate it.
Tone: The pedal seems very responsive - I'm sure it will be fine.
Finish: Its a good looking unit and a welcome addition to my pedals.
Action: It worked - what more can I say - rememeber, its an Ibanez product!
Skill Level: Intermediate
Do you own this product?: I do indeed - and proudly so!
