Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer Distortion Pedal

Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer Distortion Pedal

With its super warm, natural overdrive tone, the original TS9 is the most sought-after distortion pedal in the guitar-playing world. Billed as "the re-issue that isn't", the new TS9 Tube Screamer is being built in the same factory, using the same components as the hard-to-find, original TS9. It's the favorite for guitarists who play anything from Grunge to Bluesy Rock to Metal and the hard stuff. Original TS9s are selling for ridiculous prices - up to #200 or $300 - but now through AMS you can have the same thing for the right price!

The TS9 reissue features the same careful hand wiring and analog circuitry as the original classic. Like almost all of the original TS9's, our reissue features the TA75558 IC chip. The TS9DX Turbo Tube Screamer features the slightly warmer JRC4558D IC found in most of the old TS808 Tube Screamers and also offers three new settings for increased low end crunch: +, Hot, and Turbo.

Subject:Great Pedal
Quality: Well made. When I opened the box it was the same pedal I brought home from Gene Beaver's shop way back when. I tend to be a bit rougher on equipment these days, but expect thsi to hold up well based on experience.
Sound: From enhancing the clean to going iddle of the raod this is great. If you are looking for a Megadeth sound this is not your pedal. However, If Dickie Betts or Derek Trucks turn your head, give it a whirl.
Reliability: Current one is brand new, but I expect it to be as reliable as the one I had 20+ years ago.
Overall: I owned one when I played metal in the 80's. Had a single channel amp then so needed to be able to change from the floor. Currently run this through a Vox AC50CP to simulate a third channel via the clean channel on the amp. Stylistically I have to go from country clean, to southern rock, to 80's dirty. Rather than by a 3 or 4 channel amp it is easier to stomp box it. This pedal has great tones and is versitile. Have been using a BOSS Blues Driver which is is nice pedal but a bit more limited.
Playability and Feel: See ACTION and igoore the guy from Wisconsin.
Tone: This is up to you. Don not expect to step on something and expect it to tbe the END ALL. Have to do minor adjustments on the amp But the Vox makes that very simple.
Finish: Ugly green, but ugly world.
Action: Instead of a S****A*** comment I will say N/A.
Skill Level: Semi-Pro
