iRig Mic Field is a pocket-size stereo microphone designed for audio and video field-recording applications. Thanks to its exclusive rotating enclosure, the IK Multimedia iRig Mic Field doubles as the perfect stereo mic for professional audio and video applications. Now it’s possible to preserve accurate left/right stereo imaging for high-quality audio recordings during video shoots.
iRig Mic Field connects digitally through the Lightning port of an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, giving far superior results than the built-in mono mic on the device. It features two high-quality capsules, in an XY stereo configuration, and a 24-bit A/D converter to ensure the best possible quality. A built-in headphone jack allows for real-time monitoring.
iRig MIC Field works with several IK companion apps including iRig Recorder 2 and many other iOS compatible Core Audio audio and video apps (including GarageBand, Voice Memo, iMovie, etc..).

iRig Mic Field connects to any iOS device via the Lightning port. Once Mic Field is connected, the iOS device will detect it and the microphone is ready to be used by compatible apps. Is it possible to adjust the input level via the gain thumbwheel and checking the precise level through the multicolor LED indicator. The headphone output allows for real time monitoring of the recorded audio.
Connections and Controls
iRig Mic Field is connected to the iOS device through the Lightning port. On the side facing the user, the multicolor LED allows for easy status and level indication check; on the microphone side are located the gain control thumbwheel and the headphone output. iRig Mic Field also features an exclusive rotating and auto-locking system which lets change the mic’s orientation for using it with device in both portrait (audio) or landscape (video).
