Features
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
You will have to experiment and figure out how you want your mp3's to come out. first there are two settings to choose from; normal, for normal tapes, and chrome for metal tapes and tapes with noise reduction. You can select to divide recording into tracks. Say there are five songs on side A of the tape. If you divide into tracks you'll have 5 mp3's. I you don't divide you'll have 1 mp3 with 5 songs on it. If you choose to divide into tracks, beware that this is done by volume level, meaning, if a song has a quiet transition or brief silence between an intro and a verse, the Ion will make two seperate tracks even though it's the same song. If you have the time, don't divide into tracks and record one song at a time. Next, you have an adjustable gain setting. This will help with clarity on those old tapes. Caution! The volume control also affects the level of the recording. Then you can title and save your tracks as mp3. Comes with itunes software.
Ease of Use
How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be?
you will need to play around and experiment to get the best quality recording. Not hard to use.
Value
Was this item an overall good value?
I have hundreds of tapes. To buy mp3's would cost more than $40. It's a no brainer.
