    Product Description

A high-performance guitar design, the SLATTXMG3-6 Soloist features a sophisticated ergonomic design, ultra-fast playability and, of course, monstrous tone.

Jackson SLATTXMG3-6 Soloist Electric Guitar Features

    • Basswood Body
    • 1 Piece Maple Neck
    • Dark Rosewood fingerboard
    • Piranha Tooth (small shark fin) inlays
    • EMG Humbucking pickups
Dual graphite reinforcement rods run the length of the three-piece maple neck with speed profile to fortify it against the extremes of nature, buttressing it against warping while a speedy 12”-16” compound radius fingerboard creates the ideal playing surface for fat riffs and easy chording near the black plastic nut while gradually flattening in the upper registers for lightning-quick solos and wide bends without fear of fretting out. A pair of EMG active humbucking pickups—an 85 neck pickup and 81 bridge pickup—generate versatile, huge and high output tones for brutal distortion and clear, crisp cleans. The Jackson adjustable compensated strings-thru-body bridge produces massive sustain, and when combined with the Jackson-branded tuning machines, rock-solid tuning stability along with precise intonation.

Classic Jackson appointments include the instantly recognizable piranha inlays, black hardware, single-ply neck binding and the Soloist’s ergonomically arched top for playing blazing licks with comfort. Sleek, refined, and dangerous, the SLATTXMG3-6 Soloist is art brought to life, tempered with high-tech performance for the ultimate metal machine.

What is your opinion of this product?
Over the years I've owned Epiphone, Washburn, Ibanez, American PRS's and Jacksons. This being my third Jackson. This model is in the middle of my Jackson's price wise ($199.00 - $1500.00) but is the worst of the three in terms of quality. The tuners and nut material are absolute crap and are more inline with what I would expect in a $99.00 Chinese made piece of poo. Another area of concern is the setup out of the box. Obviously, you wouldn't expect perfection right off the bat from an imported guitar but the setup on this guitar was so bad it appears the parts were thrown on and absolutely zero quality control was performed. The last thing I'll mention is the factory box had been opened and resealed at some point. The usual hex wrenches and Jackson documentation were missing from the box. Did I get a restock? If the tools and documentation weren't missing and the setup wasn't so horrendous I would have thought someone at American Musical looked it over before it was shipped. In the end these things weren't deal breakers because my plan all along was to modify the guitar. However, if I had a limited amount of money to spend on a guitar or I was buying this as a gift it would have been shipped back the same day.
