From THD Electronics and designer Andy Marshall, the Jet City PicoValve is an incredibly compact, low-wattage tonal monster. Featuring dual 12AX7 preamp and a single 6L6 power tubes, the PicoValve guitar amplifier head provides touch-sensitive and punchy cleans up to beefy, heavy Rock tones. Get the tone you want for recording or live without the unnecessary volume required to light your tubes with 50-100 watt heads. The PicoValve's output power is selectable from 5 to 2.5 watts to get just the right amount of saturation out of your amp.

Jet City PicoValve Features
  • THD's Unique Topology for swapping the power tube at will
    • Uses nearly al octal-based tube without rebiasing
  • Single channel with Preamp and Master Volume control
  • 5 watts of tube power, switchable to 2.5 watts
  • Multiple speaker impedance outputs
  • THD's signature steel cage design
No Re-Biasing!
What’s more, you can custom-tailor your Pico by swapping the power tube with nearly any octal-based tube, and there’s no re-biasing necessary. Looking to complete the package? The Pico mates perfectly with the JCA12XS for a handsome and compact micro-stack.

Great Bedroom Amp
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
It is heavy and appears to be solid built.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
First one was dead, but AMS has great customer service and I had a new one in days.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
This is a realy good practice amp. I was surprised to find this amp much quieter than my Marshall Class 5 (might be because its hooked up to my 2 x 12" cab.) My grandkids can be asleep down the hall and I can still get some good grind going and not bother them at the 5 watts setting. It looks great, but I wish it had the same top as the Univalve. It is a great Tinkerers amp because you can change the tubes and find your tone.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
It is a warmer tone than my Class 5's, which I like with my guitar.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
