Korg nanoPAD USB Drum Controller

The Korg nanoPAD is a unique, exceptionally responsive pad that has inherited the terrific sensitivity and feel of the Korg padKONTROL, one of the most highly sought-after pad controllers on the market, in a smaller format!
The Korg nanoPad offers 12 excellent feeling and highly responsive pads in a new, smaller footprint. In addition, a new Chord Trigger function lets you enter chords onto a single pad, helping you to make the most of the work surface as you create. The pads are also able to transmit control change messages, making this a great interface for soloing or muting mixer tracks, turning objects on and off, or triggering clips during your live performances.

nanoPAD’s X-Y pad offers Roll and Flam modes, to help you lay down ultra-realistic drum grooves. The X-Y pad will also send MIDI CC (Control Change), making it a go-to interface for any parameter within your software that requires full range MIDI control such as pitch, cutoff, volume and beyond.

With the KORG KONTROL Editor (downloadable free of charge from the Korg website) you can customize four scenes that address the pads and X-Y pad can be stored within nanoPAD to suit your control needs. That means you actually have access to 48 notes/chords, 60 MIDI controllers, or any combination of the two types of data at any given time. Also, select one of three velocity curves or a fixed velocity to tailor the nanoPAD to your touch.

The nanoPAD also comes complete with a download code for Toontrack’s EZDrummer Lite, offering super-realistic, highly responsive drums in a convenient plug in, plus you can upgrade to the full version of EZDrummer for a special price, and a free downloadable Editor/Librarian to help you create setups to suit your specific control needs.

Subject:DO NOT BUY spend an extra $40 and get something better
Quality: I purchased my first Nanopad when they first came out. In less than 2 months about 3 of the pads went out.. totally dead. Troubleshoot the USB cable, my computer, etc. It was definitely the cheaply made plastic nanopad. Since I know the manager at XXXX, I had it swapped for another New one, New in box. This one did THE SAME EXACT THING... different pads tho. Three pads went dead after about 1 month. I am not hitting the pads hard. Got a THIRD NANOPAD yesterday. Pad #9 DEAD out of the box. What a chinese made piece of junk.
Features: the concept is good but the product is cheaply made and faulty.
Ease of Use: very easy but doesn't work.
Value: this item needs to be recalled. Shame on KORG for not addressing this issue that is on their forum. We'll see you at the NAMM SHOW
Appearance: cheap plastic, the top sticks out and looks bad right out of the box.

Subject:Ready To Go Midi Controller
Quality: The Korg Nano Pad is a solid midi controller. The unit is perfectly weighted for durability. The pads respond accurately with every touch.
Features: What I like about the Korg Nano Pad is the multi bank feature. Having the ability to jump between pad setting quickly. I would like to add 360 control knobs to the Korg Nano Pad.
Ease of Use: After installing the Korg editing software it was a plug and play all the way. The Nano Pad works great with Serato and Ableton Live.
Value: The price was very reasonable for the unit.
Appearance: I love the design with the black body and pads. The unit compliments my DJ set up.

Subject:Great Deal
Quality: It feels very solid and well made.
Features: I use it with FL Studio. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. It's a great controller for both live shows and for recording.
Ease of Use: Just plug it in, download the drivers, enable it in the program you want to use and you're ready to go. I had a problem getting it to work but I emailed Korg and got a fast response. The problem was with my computer. With Windows XP you can only have 10 midi drivers. Korg sent instructions to quickly and easily fix it.
Value: It only cost $59. It would be a good value at twice that much..... but I'm glad it only costs $59.
Appearance: It's cool, slick, and black.
