Subject:PC 1X blows your socks off , but not your wallet!
Overall: I purchased a PC1X, and ofcourse after searching the net high and low AMS beat all the other dot coms by two hundred dollars at the time. I strongly suggest that you but the "Ochestral expansion" offered by Kurzweil. Not that it is a must, but with the technology moving so fastthis add on will make you very happy you spent a few more bucks. Man, as a guy that reallly enjoys laying down tracks and having quality tools this machine willl take you places you've only heard in your head. Opening your number with an intro of horns is really a gas, and with its MIDI, and digital qualities your imagination is your only limit. I know I might sound a bit strong on this PC1X, but now that I can move around all the features I really don't know how one would record at home without this machine. Hock your old lady and buy one of these machines! It doesn't care about the toilet seat, and it WILL take you to the next plateau !!

Subject:This Board Rocks
Overall:

QUALITY:
Very good quality construction, however, with any weighted board, it should be positioned so that it does not get turned upside down or on its side during transport. My PC88 made it 10 years, this one should too.

FEATURES:
UNBELIEVABLE orchestra sounds, which is really not a big shocker, it's to be expected from Kurzweil. One drawback is you get knobs instead of sliders, but it's similar to the older PC88.

EASE OF USE:
Very easy to use. Plug it in, hook up your amp, turn it on. The bank selection takes a few minutes to get used to, but not cmplicated.

VALUE:
You get what you pay for, and that's especially true in a weighted board. If you have the money, the price is well worth it. You can't touch these sounds or features in other boards for under $1500. If I had the bucks, I woould have got the K2600, but as with most Kurzweil stuff, you can upgrade it if you know what you are doing.
