Subject:EXCELLENT WAY TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY!
Quality: I don't know a lot of ukulele's, but for the price it is an excellent starter ukulele. I had one ukulele before this and it was a toy, a piece of garbage compared to this. I use it when I play in various musical projects. I would not take it out of the house if it was not dependable.
Reliability: I have only had it for a brief period of time, but with the proper care I am sure that it will last for many years.
Overall: Overall, I have VERY happy with this product! For the price, you just can't beat it.
Playability and Feel: A ukulele is not a heavy instrument to begin with. It is not fast or chunky. The neck is small and easy to handle. The controls are located in a very good location and are easy to reach while playing.
Tone: This item has a very basic active pick-up. It has one control knob for tone. I adjust the sound through the equalizer in my amplifier. It can be both bright and snappy, both dark and smooth. I think that is has a mellow pick-up.
Finish: The stain and finish looks fantastic! Much nicer looking than I had anticipated. The photo on the website does not really do it justice.
Action: Easy to tune, and it stayed in tune surprisingly well right out of the box. I find that rare with a new instrument. Although this is not a top of the line ukulele, the action is good and the cutaway makes it much easier to reach those high notes and chords.
Skill Level: Semi-Pro
