Product Description

An excellent sounding tube head and a 1x12 cabinet make this package a must have for any studio. The IRT Studio head provides the versatility while the cabinet fills your room with sound.

IRT Studio Ironheart Tube Guitar Amplifier Head
The Laney IRT-Studio Ironheart Tube Guitar Amplifier Head provides the world famous Ironheart tones in a low wattage package with features that make it perfect for any studio! Laney outfits this head with both a 15-watt and 1-watt input for great versatility. 3 channels include Clean, Rhythm and Lead for a wide range of tone while two EL84 power tubes and 3 ECC83 preamp tubes give the IRT-Studio head great sparkle, grind and versatility.

USB Connectivity – No Latency
The Laney IRT-Studio features a USB Audio I/O and a RE-AMP send jack. The USB supplies both a dry signal and the processed signal – split left and right to your DAW – directly into either your PC/MAC or iPad, which means that you can alter the guitar tone of your original recording – without having to re-track anything!

Internal Dummy Load
The Laney IRT-Studio Ironheart has an internal dummy load – so unlike a conventional tube loaded amp – you don’t need to connect an external speaker – Which gives you truly silent recording!

Silent and Emulated Record Out
The IRT-Studio also houses a high quality speaker-emulated record out immediately after the output section which means it delivers all valve tone to your DAW or PA or both at the same time for recording your live shows.

Laney IRT 112 Cabinet
High quality construction and a 1x12-inch HH Custom Driver make this the ultimate cab for your low to mid-powered amp! Laney designed the IRT112 cab to compliment the IRT models sonic output. Fitted with ergonomic side grab handles and light enough to be carried from gig to gig with no strain. The 12 inch Custom HH-designed speaker provides 80W Power handling!

General
Your general opinion of this product.
Right out of the box I was pretty impressed. It's much louder than I thought it would be. Haven't been able to turn it up past four at they house. I'll have a chance to try it with a drummer tonight but I'm pretty sure it won't have a problem keeping up. I've heard you can't get too many tones out of this other than metal but I'd have to disagree. I've already played some bluesy jazzy stuff too and it sounds awesome. Roll the gain back on the Rhythm channel and you get a nice bluesy overdrive tone. I also Love the boost option. Really gives you alot of range you can cover with just three channels.
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
It seems sturdy enough. Nice metal shell. Seems to have good ventilation for the tubes as well. Knobs feel good. I doubt they'd pop off unless you hit it on something too hard.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Well...It's light. I can carry my head, cab, and guitar in one trip. It all fits in my car too (which was impossible with a halfstack).
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Again it has a wide range of tones. Good for everything from metal to beautiful cleans and everything in between.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
I was a little confused with the controls at first but once you get used to it they make sense. The footswitch is nice but I wish it had an individual button for the rhythm. You have to turn off the lead and clean channel to access rhythm. Not too much of a problem though. I usually just use lead and clean.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Everything was well packaged. There were no dings or scratches. It looks brand new. The head has a flat black metal finish. Very nice and smooth. Cab is wrapped in fake leather but it looks nice.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Haven't had it long enough to tell but it seems like it will last a long time as long as it's taken care of.
