Line 6 POD X3 Pro Rackmount Guitar Effects ProcessorThe Line 6 Pod X3 Pro is the powerful Dual Tone processor that comes complete with amp and effect models for recording guitar, bass and vocals.
The most powerful POD ever!
Like all members of the POD X3 family, POD X3 Pro offers powerful Dual Tone modeling and routing options. Split your single-input guitar or bass signal through two different amp and effect chains simultaneously to create gorgeous new hybrids, or use its dual inputs to individually process two instruments—a microphone and a guitar, for example—at the same time.
Computer-based studios will want to exploit the USB 2.0 connectivity provided by POD X3 Pro for multi-channel recording as well as its S/PDIF or AES/EBU Stereo Digital Audio I/O for sending a direct digital signal to their DAWs. For additional recording and processing flexibility, POD X3 Pro also includes software plug-in functionality for integration with DAW recording applications.
Over USB, you’ve got the ability to record any or all of 8 different signals running through the POD X3 Pro. The 1/4-inch and XLR inputs can be used to simultaneously record two individual instruments or microphones to separate tracks in your DAW, each in stereo and each with the option of recording the dry mono signal at the same time. (This is perfect for going back after you’ve recorded a track and adding a little magic with the included plug-in.) In addition to the dual stereo and mono options, there’s also a stereo blend being sent down to your DAW that matches exactly the blend coming out of the stereo 1/4-inch outs.
Amps and Cabs
Quite simply, there has never been an amp modeler with this much sheer firepower. The awesome amp arsenal in POD X3 Pro boasts a whopping 78 guitar amps and 24 guitar cabinets, from boutique beauties to screaming monsters, along with 28 bass amp models and 22 bass cabinet models. With the new POD X3 Dual Tone processing, you can double your trouble by running through two amp rigs simultaneously, pairing any of the rumbling amp models in POD X3 Pro for new and adventurous hybrids. And of course, POD X3 Pro uses A.I.R. II microphone modeling to give you four mic options (with control of mic positioning and room bleed) for every single cab.
Effects
Try to picture this: a pedal board that’s 30-feet long, with close to a hundred of the all-time greatest stompboxes (in pristine condition!), along with an effects rack that houses top-notch outboard compressors, reverbs, EQs and vintage preamps. And imagine that you could play and record through this über-board with no noise at all, only one power supply and only a couple of knobs and switches to control the entire thing.
That’s what you get with POD X3 Pro: 98 stompbox and studio effect models, the most mammoth collection of tones and timbres ever assembled. You can quickly create a custom effect path with up to nine simultaneous effects, and with POD X3 Dual Tone processing, you can even run through two completely independent effects chains at the same time, to create totally original (and insane!) walls of sound. POD X3 Pro includes:
- Stomp: Fuzz, Distortion, Overdrive and every flavor of delicious dirt.
- Mod: Chorus, Flanger, Tremolo, Rotary, Phaser; some serious swoosh.
- Delay: Multiple types of Analog, Digital, Tape and other echoes, echoes, echoes. . .
- Reverb: Multiple types of Room, Hall, Chamber, Plate, Spring and more.
- Beyond: Compressors, Gate, 4-Band Semi-Parametric EQ, Guitar Synth, Filters, Wah and the entire galaxy of otherworldly timbre tweakers.
The Ultimate Secret Weapon for Bassists, Singers and Songwriters.
Think PODs only geared towards guitarists? Think again: POD X3 Pro might just be the ultimate secret weapon for bassists, singers and songwriters too. Bass players can combine any of the 28 badass bass amp and 22 bass cab models with any one of its killer high-end compressors and super-cool stompboxes. Better yet, why not use Dual Tone processing to run up to nine of those stompboxes and studio processors on each of your two simultaneous bass rigs.
Singers can run their studio microphone into the XLR input and take advantage of the warm and rich suite of mic preamp and compressor models provided by POD X3 Pro. Adding a touch of top-quality vintage spring or digital reverb will put that professional touch on all your best songs.
Perform live using POD X3 Dual Tone processing and turn your POD X3 Pro into both a vocal processor/preamp (via XLR input) and a guitar amp modeler/effector (via 1/4-inch input), and simply send a single stereo pair to the house as you sing and play your heart out!

| | | Subject: | My Home Studio Prayers Have Been Answered With The X3 PRO! | | Quality:
| The X3 is in deed Pro quality. I have been playing guitar for 20 years. I have owned every kind of pedal, and now as a home studio musician I am forced to keep it low. With the X3 Pro I can have Pro sounding tones. I have everything I need to record vocals and lay down a bass line. This is the all in one for the home musician! I'm highly impresed with the quality of this unit. It's by far the most important purchase I have made in my endless quest for the perfect tone. | | Sound:
| One strong point about the X3 Pro is the software it comes with called Gear Box. Bravo Line 6! This software allows you to completely control your X3 Pro's settings and allows you to edit tones visually on your PC. You can also connect to the online service where new tones and lessons are introduced all the time.
On the X3 Pro you can call up any tone from Jazz, Rockabilly, The Beatles to Metallica to Gilmore to John Frusciante funk! With so much tonal flexibility I found my self creating new songs from effects or tones I normally wouldn't have thought of using. I own high end and low end guitars. Now with the X3 Pro I can hear what my guitars really can do. Before I was forced to play at a low level on my Fender Deluxe Reverb 65 RI, and wasn’t getting all the tone from my guitars. It’s like hearing my guitar’s true tone for the first time!
The sound of the X3 Pro sounds great plugged into an Amp or direct out to a sound board,Digital multi-track recorder or DAW. | | Reliability:
| I have only owned my X3 Pro for a couple weeks. So far it seems pretty solid. | | Overall:
| I am a record at home musician and this X3 Pro has completed me. For starters the X3 Pro has every Input and Output you will need for a live or home studio environment. Right out of the box I figured out how to navigate and customize tones and input and output configurations. I am very picky about tone. I was worried that Amp Model's wouldn't be up to par as I'm an old Fender Amp guy. Boy was I wrong. From a Vox AC30 to a Marshall Stack the Amp Modeling on the X3 is by far the best I have ever heard. The X3 Pro was designed very well with the Studio and live musician in mind. This is the one stop shop for the home musician. With so much tone flexibility and so many configurations with the Amps/Cabinets/room size/effects/type of mic I use Etc. Etc. I can really pull off any tone I want on a pro sounding level. Plus the Dual Tone feature really great! It's easy to edit tones and I was able to quickly learn to use it within a day of receiving it. | | Playability and Feel:
| The X3 PRO is a pretty looking rack mount. Also with the front knobs that control drive, Bass, Mid, Treb, verb and Presence are really cool to quickly adjust/tweak your tone on the fly. | | Tone:
| You name it, it's in there! The X3 Pro has it all. You can quickly and easily find a tone you love and then some. The X3 Pro tones have been a tool for new songs and new ideas. I'm blown away at the quality.
