As the originator of its Black Nickel-Over-Brass shell composition, Ludwig is proud to announce the introduction of new Black Magic Snare Drums. A classic formula for a more aggressive musical age, Black Magic snare drums share the same shell type with the Black Beauty, but with upgrades like matching Die-Cast hoops for increased volume, and Tube-Style lugs for maximum shell resonance.
Ludwig Black Beauty Stainless Steel
Yet another in a series of Ludwig firsts, Black Magic Stainless models incorporate a mirror-polished, 1.5mm stainless steel shell for bright, cutting attack and mid-range overtone. Black Magic's black-nickel tube lugs and appointments provide sharp visual contrast, and tonal range is broadened with 2.3mm power-hoops.

| It is a Ludwig..........'nuff said! A killer drum made by one of the most respected companies in the business. I believe it is made overseas, which may be the reason it is not a Black Beauty. But other than that, it is every bit as good. |

| The sound is more mellow than a steel shelled drum, as expected from the brass shell, but with a great bite and attack. Much more power than a wood shell drum. |

| This drum is a great value. It is much cheaper than a standard Black Beauty, but with the same shell type and, in my opinion, much cooler looks. If you are needing or wanting a metal shell drum, take a good look at this one. You will not be disappointed. |
