Exceptional Sonic Performance
In designing the 6925 passive speakers, TAPCO called upon the loudspeaker experts at EAW to develop the most affordable and compact speakers possible without compromising sound quality or response. Each 6925 PA speaker is made to withstand the rigors of the road — particularly the high output and amazing accuracy demanded nightly by discriminating audiences. Professional 1 inch, high-output compression drivers ensure pristine high-end attack, while Mackie-designed vented woofers generate huge levels of chest-pounding bass in any venue.

Built Like A Tank
Beyond their amazing performance, these professional tone monsters are also designed to withstand the punishment of the road. The entire acoustic chamber is made of wood, giving it the best possible response, extended low frequency output and no annoying rattles or vibrations that plague competing speakers over time. Custom molded protective edge bumpers make sure roadies can't damage your speakers or your ride. And say goodbye to ugly rat fur covering — Series 69 speakers are cased in durable PVC vinyl, so they'll survive the inevitable bumps and bruises of rigorous touring.

Protecting Your Investment
To prevent your speakers from heat damage, Tapco installed a protection circuit for the high frequency driver. If the overload sensor is tripped, the protection circuit reduces power to the driver. When the unit cools to a safe level, the circuit resets and normal operation resumes. This keeps your speakers running at optimal levels, preserving their rich sound for a lifetime of enjoyment.

Professional Components for Professional Sound
For Series 69, Tapco tested the highest quality components before installing them to ensure steadfast reliability and unparalleled value. Tapco incorporates both Speakon and 1/4 inch TS inputs for maximum connection flexibility and daisy chaining multiple speakers. Series 69 is perfect for a variety of sound applications, from DJ rigs to rehearsal studios to medium-sized clubs or outdoor concerts.

Very well made, when you see & hear it in person, you will think it was 3 times its price, its just one of them deals that you should not pass up, if only good ratings why not consider?

They sound as good as any Mackie or jbl for a 1/4 of the price, and can handle alot of power, the 1/4 inch and speakon jacks are very well made, this speaker looks seemless, the metal grill has a foam trim under it to prevent rattle.

A bit heavy, but if you want boom, its not going to be light, around 80 pounds, break out the dolly, the handles feel strong, not great, but easy to set up a gig with one person.

Sounds great, I use them with a mackie M3000 Amp, and a behringer ultra curve, with this setup there is no need for a sub, the bass is tight and the mids & highs are easy to set up for any size room, with the ultra curv.

The speakers certainly are durable other than the feet. I would have liked to see the input jack plate somewhat recessed to help protect the jacks. But I think these cabinets will stand up to normal abuse of normal weekend gigs for a long time with proper care.

Features as described by Tapco claim tey are "made with multi-ply Baltic birch wood — not cheap plastic or shoddy particle board like the competition" Yet the cabinet material is a form of OSB board not plywood as it tends to lead you to believe. The plastic corners are prone to cracking and breaking one was broke when received a day later found 2 more cracked at the front corners and they stick out just begging to get snagged on something and be broken off. I'll be putting metal corners on mine but that will expose the seam of the thin vinyl covering which I will have to find a way to cover. AMS was great with helping to remedy the problem. No better customer support anywhere. plus the added value of an extended warranty? Way to go AMS!

In a room with good acoustics these should be very simple to use. If you have a (loud) room with not much to absorb sound or diffuse it properly there will be feedback issues that will need to be dealt with. But this common with many speakers. If you are doing a permanent install with a loud room I would spend a little more and get The EV Sx line of speakers. I find these to be the most forgiving in those types of environments.
Sound
How is its Tone?
The sound is somewhat bright and lacks a smooth midrange. The middle 15" driver has significantly less mids coming out of it than the lower 15" driver. I am curious of this and plan on opening up one to see why. I am very picky on sound and did not expect much from these, but they are certainly a value for a band on a tight budget. This is why I bought them in the first place. Because I help new bands get started with putting together a sound system within there budget or small churches needing to upgrade from home speakers and a radio shack amp/mixer.
