The TAPCO THUMP TH-15A, designed by Mackie engineering, is a 2-way 15-inch active loudspeaker that is both ULTRA-LIGHT at only 36 lbs and extremely POWERFUL!
With a combined 400 Watts of peak power The Tapco TH15 delivers mammoth sized volume levels. From 20kHz all the way down to 40Hz! Its amazing high frequency definition is provided by onboard precision digital electronics including a phase accurate crossover, transducer time alignment and phase correction, plus complete system protection. While its ample bottom end is delivered via the ported bass reflex cabinet design. Its durable polypropylene enclosure ensures years of reliability and provides the versatility of pole mount or stage monitor positioning. TAPCO THUMP TH15A delivers the best performance, portability and versatility in its class.

How is its Tone?
Good tone and well balanced. I plugged in a 5 string bass (through a pre-amp) and the LOW freq. driver just couldn't handle it a LOW volume - I mean as low as an acoustic guitar. Strange - it started braking up even as I had all EQs set to +/- 0 - no bosst, no cut - I suppose it's a SOFT cone - it does better with acoustic guitar and CDs.

Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
I have had them for 2 months, and used them already at least 4 times...they have performed well. I have used them full range (for less than 100 people) and also as Mid/High along with a sub ( for approx 150 people ). As another reviewer mentioned, the only thing is that they clip very easily..so you need to be gentle with your mixer's volume fader/knob.
