Mapex 5-piece Meridian SRO drum set is appointed with 6-ply, 100% birch drum shells that deliver an incredible high-end attack, a narrower midrange, and plenty of bottom end punch.
Features include the Mapex I.T.S. Mounting System, which has minimal contact for better tone, and tom holders with an extra cymbal arm.

Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
The finish and sound of these drums is well above what you pay. The only caveat is the 6 tuning lugs n the Birch floor toms. 2 more lugs/tom wouldn't have been that much more expensive to produce. They still tune up easy and they hold tune.

The finish, hardware and overall quality are way above what you'd expect at this price point. I've got a 7 piece that's great! get the Birch while they're still available.
Sound
How is the tone?
These have the classic Birch sound, sharp with a lot of bottom. Microphones love these drums!

These drums far exceeded my expectations. If it weren't for the Saturns these would be the best value out there. I'd take these over the MyIdentity line any day.

The lacquer finish is beautiful. The fact that you get a hand-rubbed finish for the price of a wrap is great. These things are beautiful out of the box.
