mapex builds some nicest drums on the market. Finish is amazing.shells are well made. I been playing drums professionally for 30 years had them all but I went for mapex.

The finish is hand done and is flawless. Hardware is well thought out mapex is only drum company that makes there own hardware.

How is the tone?
I own the birch love the sound. I changed the heads to remo clear emperores. For the meridian price range I dont think you will a better drum.

Great finish great sound. I had ludwig yamaha pearl pacific this drums are superior. The price will not empty your pocket. Mapex keep up the good work
