Marshall MG50DFX Guitar Combo Amplifier

Using radical new technologies (some borrowed from the amazing, acclaimed AVT series), the new MG Series raises the sonic and performance standard of bang-for-your-buck guitar amplifiers. Marshall's exclusive FDD (Frequency Dependent Damping) technology accurately mimics the way an all-tube amp interacts with a loudspeaker, giving the MGs a width of sound never before possible in an affordable, non-tube amp. All models feature a CD input, speaker-emulated headphone jack, and a line out jack. Models from the MG15DFX and up boast built-in, custom-designed digital effects!

MG50DFX
Ideal for rehearsal with your band or performing on stage, this 50W amp provides features a 12 inch Celestion speaker, an effects loop, a complete Digital Effects section, dedicated Digital Reverb and 2 channels. Includes a 2-way LED footswitch for channel switching and DFX On/Off.

FDD
Marshall’s exclusive, groundbreaking FDD circuitry gives the MG Series the unbelievable depth of sound and unique “feel” of their legendary, all-tube amps. It does this by mimicking the way an all-tube power amp interacts with the speaker(s) it is driving.

This radical new technology is incorporated on all MG Series amplifiers.

Incredible Sound - Amazing Versatility
All the MG Series are equipped with Marshall’s proprietary speaker emulation system for the Headphone Out and Line Out. Combined with a CD input, each of these amplifiers is ideal for recording as well as practice.

Overall: I just got this amp, and always wanted a Marshall. It is everything it is hyped to be. The effects are real nice, if you crank the reverb, it sounds like your playing in a cave. The clean is real nice, you can easily pull off Country, and Rockabilly. And the distortion is real nice, you can get a Bluesbreakers sound, and a Slash sound, without too much trouble. The amp is super quiet. The only why I didn't put anything for Reliability, is because I have only had for 4 days. But this is really worth the money, it will smoke any Fender amp, in it's class (Princeton ...)

Subject:Nice amp, crappy fan!
Overall:

QUALITY:
Put together nicely with the exception of the friggin' cooling fan. What a piece of garbage! It's the only flaw in an otherwise excellent Marshall amp.

FEATURES:
Nicely laid out easy to dial-in. Nice sounding effects although not very convenient to use while playing.

EASE OF USE:
Easy to dial-up the sound you want so long as you don't want to do more than switch channels during a song.

VALUE:
A good bargain for the price. Money well spent.

SOUND:
Everything from twang to cruch. Plenty of volume for any smaller gig.

STYLE:
Rock

MUSIC EXPERIENCE:
over 20 years

OVERALL:
I've had mine for close to a year now and still the only complaint I have is a piece of crap $1.98 cooling fan. You have to turn it up past 2 to drown out the fan noise.
"The experience was pleasant. Easy to find the amp I was looking for. The 3 Easy Payments are great!"
