Subject:Pinched sounding tone. Not as good as the MXL V67
Overall: Lacks clarity. Sounds like part of the sound is being pinched out. The MXL V67 is way better, and it cost more (99 bucks) but is a lot better. The V57 doesn't cut it for the kind of clear sound I need.

Great build quality. Excellent sounding mic for the <$100 price tag.

FEATURES:
Nice sound quality.

EASE OF USE:
The only mistake you could make is forgetting to turn on the phantom power.

VALUE:
Everyone should own a pair of these. They are the best sounding mic out there at this price point.

SOUND:
Nice open sound. Off axis rejection isn't great, so I wouldn't use it for live sound. I've used my pair for many on-location stereo recordings, and have been very pleased with the results. Everything from drum lines, to marching bands, to choral, to chamber. My pair of these mics has never dissapointed me.

OVERALL:
I use my two V57M's in a stereo pair all the time. They are incredibly flexable and have a great sound to them. Remember though, they are a different animal than my Neumann'
