Discussion: I use Martin SP strings on my Martin guitar as well as my other two non-martin acoustics and the Sp's sound fantastic. I picked up 2 for 1 on the Life Span SP strings. I've read many negative reviews on Elixr coated strings in the past, but the "light weight" Cleartone product was supposed to be better. So, when I purchased these I thought "awesome, my favorite Martin strings that are coated to last longer". For lack of a better description, these strings suck. The look very nice when installed, but they sound like crap. They just don't have the full loud sound I'm used to hearing from my dread, and just sound bright and tinny. Not very happy. I'm not sure if they are the standard SP strings with a coating on them, but they sure don't sound the same. Save your self the time and money, and stick to the normal strings and change them regularly.
