Martin D15 Acoustic Guitar with Case

The Martin D15 is a simply-decorated reintroduction of the mahogany-top acoustic that was so popular in the 1940's (currently Martin's most affordable guitar). The D15’s solid, genuine mahogany or sapele construction produces exceptional tone.
Features of the Martin D15 include a 2-piece back, A-frame X-bracing, a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard, a rosewood bridge and a satin body finish. The top is trimmed with a single banded gold herringbone decal rosette and a tortoise-colored pickguard. Mellower tonality and the classic playability and heritage of an American-made Martin instrument make the D15 a tremendous value. Hardshell case included.

Martin 15-17 Series
Martin's 15-17 Series allows you to satisfy your desire for a more easily affordable all solid wood Martin guitar - and they offer these guitars to you in all shapes and sizes.

These instruments feature richly stained solid mahogany or sapele top, back, and sides to give it the distinctive look along with the recognizable Martin sound - features that mark it one of Martin’s most attractive values.

Standard features for the 15 Series generally include solid mahogany or sapele mahogany top, back and sides, herringbone decal rosette, satin finish, patented neck mortise, and A-frame X-bracing which enhances the rich, bright sound inherent in mahogany or sapele.

About Martin Guitars
For well over a century and a half, the Martin Guitar Company has been continuously producing acoustic instruments that are acknowledged to be the finest in the world.

The Martin Guitar Company has, through the years, managed to survive with each succeeding generation from C. F. Martin, Sr.'s Stauffer influenced creations of the 1830s to recent developments introduced by C. F. Martin IV. Continuous operation under family management is a feat bordering on the remarkable, reflecting six generations of dedication to the guitarmaker's craft. In or out of the music industry, C. F. Martin has few rivals for sheer staying power.

Throughout its colorful history, the company has adapted successfully to continual changes in product design, distribution systems, and manufacturing methods. In spite of the many changes, C. F. Martin has never veered away from its initial commitment to quality. The concern for producing the finest instruments possible in 1833 is especially in evidence today at Martin's expanded facility in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

Subject:Beautiful Guitar...HORRIBLE set-up
Quality: This guitar is a beauty to look at, flawless assembly, fit and finish is impeccable, smells great and feels nice and light to play. However, the guitar I received buzzes worse than a bumblebee...all the way up and down the fretboard. My $100 Yamaha plays 10 times better than this guitar.
Reliability: Don't know, have only owned it for a couple months...don't play it much.
Overall: The guitar is obviousley well made, just sounds terrible with all the fret buzz...I am really VERY disapointed, cheap guitars are set up way better than this Martin. Guess I got a lemon. I'm taking it in to get a set up done on it, hopefully that will make this guitar playable...but you would think that an instrument from such a reputable company would be at least half decently playable. Worst purchase I've made.
Playability and Feel: Feels great! Nice and light, beautiful fast neck...I like evrything about this guitar except the most important thing - the playability is terrible. Frustrating...buzzes on almost all frets.
Tone: Awful Buzz.
Finish: Finish is amazing...natural dark Mahogany, I love the look of the satin finish, wood grain shows through nicely, beautiful guitar that I'm sure will just get better with age.
Action: Action is HORRIBLE!!!! I was really taken aback when I first strummed this guitar, WORST I have ever played. I was looking forward to finally owning a Martin, and I am really very disapointed. Have owned Epiphones, Yamaha, Alverez...and they ALL play way better than this. I should have returned it, but I live in Canada and the shipping to me was a hundred bucks, and would cost the same to send back so I'm screwed.

Subject:Everything about this guitar is fabulous, and AMS has the best customer service anywhere
Quality: I've played other Martins that cost 3 times as much, I've played the Taylor concert series, the Laravees, the expensive Guilds. Side by side, this all Mahogany Martin just flat out sounds richer, fuller and sweeter. You DO need to pay very close attention to its environment and keep it properly humidified and in the right temperature range. They're sensitive instruments, but that's a GOOD thing.
Reliability: Having purchased this over the winter, the first 2 guitars were shipped in very cold weather. They arrived with neck problems and after humidifying and tweaking, still didn't feel right. THANKS GOD for the AMS return policy and GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, because I was able to return those and wait for warmer weather and now have one that's PERFECT !!
Overall: As I said, I like this guitar better than most other guitars at twice the price, including Martin's own D-18 and D-28 (the new ones - nothing beats a vintage Martin D-28 in great shape). Make sure it sings to you when you pick it up and you'll never want to put it down.
Playability and Feel: The neck is a little thinner and slightly smaller than jumbo dreadnoughts which is great if you have smaller hands like me. It's not meant to be played way, way up the neck like an electric. Bar chords are easy and crisp with good, low string action.
Tone: The tone is fantastic, and the overtones linger like a grand piano! Changing your string gauge makes a difference too, as I've tried both medium and light for a different sound. Try mixing a set of mediums on top and lights on the bottom for a really cool effect.
Finish: It's striking to say the least to have an all dark Mahagony guitar. I really like it, and it even smelled great coming out of the box!
Action: The action and feel was very good right from the start. No complaints at all.

Subject:First guitar that ever made my wife go "Wow".
Quality: I have had a considerable number of well made guitars in my hands, some very "High-end" instruments, yet, I have never had the privilege of holding something that feels like it had so much work put into it. As silly as it seems, the smell of guitar alone will let you know instantly that this is an instrument that is just in a class of its own.
Reliability: I am a new owner, so I cannot say.
Overall: Between American made Fender strats, Gibson Les paul's, SG's and a studio, ESP signature series, and several PRS's this is my favorite guitar. Hands down. I honestly feel like the guitar was made for me, the feel fit and finish feel like it was a custom order.
Playability and Feel: It is the fastest acoustic I have ever played, very smooth.
Tone: The sound is full and feels rich, this guitar , I swear, makes me feel like a better player in the same way that new sneakers made you feel like you could run better when you were younger.
Finish: This is one point that I was a little back and forth about. I really thought that I would be a little disappointed with not having a nice glossy finish- but this is by far the nicest looking guitar I have ever had. This is the first guitar that my wife said "Wow" too. Never a Gibson, Fender or ESP has ever sparked her interest, but this, straight away, caught her attention.
Action: The action was comfortable out of the box.
