Martin Dreadnought Junior Left Handed Features

    • Dreadnought Junior Body Size (15/16” of the full Martin 14-fret Dreadnought)
    • Solid Sitka Spruce Top
    • Solid Sapele Back and Sides
    • Select Hardwood Neck with Richlite Fingerboard
    • Fishman Sonitone Electronics
    • Gig Bag Included

Fashioned for player comfort, clear powerful tone and easy action, the Dreadnought Junior is reduced to approximately 15/16” of the full Martin 14-fret Dreadnought dimension (14 ¼” width at the lower bout) with an expressive 24” scale length. A solid Sitka spruce top features scalloped ¼” high performance X-bracing with a single asymmetrical tone bar. The back and sides are bookmatched from sapele, and Richlite, an ebony alternative with similar hardness and appearance, is chosen for the fingerboard and bridge. The Dreadnought Junior (aka “D Jr”) comes factory-equipped with Fishman’s Sonitone sound reinforcement system and includes a nylon gig bag.

What is your opinion of this product?
This is the fourth Martin that I have purchased in the last year. First I bought a dx1 and then shortly after I got a Little Martin to have a close by in the house when I get the urge to play. The little Martin plays well but it is more of a travel type of guitar and lacks that full body sound. I was looking to replace the little Martin with something that had, a fuller sound when I came across the Martin dreadnought junior. The Martin dreadnought junior size is between the little Martin and a regular dreadnought. It is a very comfortable size and plays as well as my full size Martins. What really impressed me was the tone. The mid range tone is really nice and the low and high tones are very nice. When I plugged it in I was very pleased with the sound that I got. I play live 4 or 5 times a month in the local restaurants in my area and I play a Martin GPCPA4. I am planning on playing the Martin dreadnought junior on my next gig and possibly using it as my performance guitar on a regular basis. It really is a comfortable guitar to play and the sound is quite impressive. I would recommend this guitar to anyone who is looking for a smaller size guitar with that rich Martin sound.
