| Great Mid-Level Martin |
| Quality |
| Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? |
| The natural-finish top is very prone to marking but otherwise the HPL sides and back are really durable. Made in Mexico, which concerns some, but not me -- guitar feels incredibly well-made. I have no qualms with its quality. |
|
| Reliability |
| How has it stood up over time? |
| Sounds better than the day I bought it. The top is subject to some coloration and marking as time goes on but not a big deal as I never plan on selling this guitar. |
|
| General |
| Your general opinion of this product. |
| Incredible guitar for $499. Blown away every time I pick it up. |
|
| Playability and Feel |
| How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? |
| The neck is BEAUTIFUL and plays very quickly. Love the smoothness and sleek fretboard. Not natural wood but sure feels like it. |
|
| Tone |
| Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? |
| Tone is wonderful, especially through an amp. Pickups are Fishman, so you know you're dealing with top-notch electronics. |
|
| Finish |
| How did the stain or paint job look? |
| I LOVE the all natural top, especially the smell. Like I said, it's got no stain so it can mark easily but this guitar really projects sound like no other, which I think may be contributed to the natural sitka spruce. |
|
| Action |
| How was the action out of the box? |
| Depends on how the factory sets it; all guitars will be different. Mine was higher than I prefer but adjusted it shortly after. |
