Tone:
Subject:BEST "BANG FOR THE BUCK" GUITAR OUT THERE
Quality: IT IS MADE WITH THE SAME EXACT QUALITY AS ANY PRICE HAND MADE MARTIN. PURE EXCELLENCE.
Sound: THE BALANCE OF NOTES FROM LOW TO HIGH IS VERY SMOOTH AND ABOUT AS PERFECT AS ANY ACOUSTIC I HAVE EVER PLAYED. THAT IS ONE OF THE SIGNATURES OF THE 000 STYLE BODY. NOT TOO MUCH LOW END BOOMINESS AND NOT TOO MUCH SHRILL HIGHER END NOTES. MIDRANGE IS PUNCY AND PERFECT.
Reliability: IT'S A HAND BUILT MARTIN, NEED I SAY ANYMORE THAN THAT?
Overall: OF ALL THE ACOUSTIC GUITARS I HAVE OWNED IN OVER 45 YEARS OF PERFORMING FOR A LIVING THIS PARTICULAR MARTIN IS THE BEST "PLAYERS" INSTRUMENT EVER. NO UNNECESSARY FRILLS OR ABALONE TRIM. JUST TONAL PERFECTION AND A WORKHORSE OF A GUITAR. GREAT FINGERPICKING STYLE GUITAR AND JUST AS ADAPT AT FLAT PICKING.
Playability and Feel: OF ALL THE ACOUSTIC GUITARS I HAVE OWNED INCLUDING HAND MADE REN FERGUSON GIBSON'S AND SANTA CRUZ AND COLLINGS NONE HAVE HAD BETTER PLAYABILITY OR FEEL THAN THIS OMC1-E, NONE.
Tone: TONE IS WARM AND FULL WITH A GRTEAT BALANCE OF LOW END TO HIGH END NOTES. NOT TOO DEEP OR TOO BRIGHT. JUST PERFECT, WHAT ELSE CAN I SAY?
Finish: WONDERFUL THIN SATIN FINISH ON THE BODY THAT ALLOWS THE GUITAR TO " BREATHE" AND RESONATE WONDERFULLY. IN ABOUT 10 YEARS THIS INSTRUMENT WILL SOUND EVEN BETTER IF THAT'S ACTUALLY POSSIBLE. THE NECK HAS NO FINISH AND IS A MODIFIED LOW OVAL DESIGN WITH A 13/4 " NUT WIDTH AND 2 1/4" STRING SPACING. made from "stratbond" a space age composite wood material that is 25% stronger than any wood
Action: IT WAS DEAD ON WHEN I TOOK IT OUT OF THE CASE FOR THE FIRST TIME. HASN'T NEEDED ANY ADJUSTMENT. IT PLAYS LIKE PURE MELTED BUTTER ALL THE WAY DOWN THE NECK.

Tone:
Subject:omc-1e in the house!
Quality: Feels very solid, just like you'd expect of a Martin guitar.
Sound: Sweet, well-balanced tone. A lot louder acoustically than I expected. A superb instrument to accompany a singer.
Reliability: Just got it, but I expect it to last a long time, based on Martin's reputation.
Overall: Great-sounding, great-playing stage guitar.
Playability and Feel: Plays as smooth as melted butter. Fingerpicking or flatpicking -- equally adept.
Tone: Love the acoustic tone. Plugged in sounds a bit piezo-quacky but that's to be expected. Running it through my sansamp acoustic DI smooths out the quackiness.
Finish: Nice satin finish. No problems here.
Action: Action was a little bit low, but not too bad. Buzzed a little bit when I strummed it hard, but a tweak on the truss rod fixed that.
Skill Level: Semi-Pro
